what are the rules/criteria to determine which candle is the range candle? I saw cpl in your example that couldve been other bars: In your last example I would say the range candle was the wide range green bar 6 bars before, at the top of that move vs the doji you called the range candle

The range candle is only one component of the strategy . Does the fake candle break below or above the range ? Is there a confirmation candle ?

Yes But remember it can break that range but has to close out of the range to be considered a break out. Also in my experience with trading this most likely will work across all time frames.
