Thank you!! This was is one of our favorite memories. I think it was because we had to do it on our own. No tour company....just us having to figure it out. We kept telling our kids it wasn't likely we would find them, but we would try. We were so excited and had so many happy squeals! :)

We are from nz but have I’ve never actually gone to the South Island. This is the year for sure. What an amazing experience to see dolphins while paddle boarding!! ❤️❤️❤️

Awesome! You will have an amazing time! Something that helped us plan was we put together a google map and put pin points on the map of the different places we wanted to visit. I could then change the icon to what it was (E.g. picture spot, hiking spot, swimming, boat, wildlife, etc.) It was super helpful in planning our route around the island. Let me know if you have any questions about anything :)

I can't even put into words what an incredible experience it was. To look them in their eyes, to have them play with us...... it will forever be one of my favorite memories. We feel so fortunate to have had this experience!

It was amazing! It felt like such an intimate experience. They were so friendly, curious, and playful. So much more fun than seeing them from a boat. They were so cute too because they were so little!!

Stevie I never knew that was even slang. I always thought it was a normal word. I sometimes can’t even tell if a word is slang or a real English word 😂

I think that is what made it such a special experience. It was something he was excited about and we worked hard to figure out how to find them. It is one of our favorite adventures from our time here in NZ.

Do you guys prefer using year level or grades for school?
@AlwaysAnAdventureWithKids4 жыл бұрын
I don't think we have a preference, but it can be confusing, especially when we talk to Americans. It makes the kids seem older than they are. Year 1 in kind of like our kindergarten. Year 2 is like our first grade.

Always An Adventure With Kids I can see how that can be confusing. I bet it also gets confusing because the school year starts in January in NZ and August in the US

Are the dolphins there all the time? or just during certain months? What time of year did you go?
@AlwaysAnAdventureWithKids5 жыл бұрын
We went at the end of December. We believe they are there all year round. Curio Bay is another place we found that has a good population of Hector dolphins. There is also surf there! :)

How far did you paddle to find the dolphins?
@AlwaysAnAdventureWithKids5 жыл бұрын
You don't have to go far 200-400 meters! Good luck with your trip!
