He’s gotta be razor shaved because he gets too moist! Hope that sentence was inclusive for all..hopefully nobody feels left out and everyone found a word that made them bock 🤢....or at least bristle 😖 By the way- Gabby you did a very good job! You will mess a lot of horses manes, tails and coats up along the way...just own it! Say you meant to do it that way and make a new name up 😄! I mess minimum 3 clips/cuts up a year.....I am, by what others would view, a pro in equine turnout and show prep....and I still after 20 years manage to give some poor horse or pony some awful, wonky hairstyle. Ask to practice on others horses (not in competition lol) as the more you do it, the better you get....same goes for braiding, practice all year and you’ll be able to run a production line pumping out perfectly braided manes one after the other in no time. You can get paid good 💵 for that to, I was charging £30 per mane and £40 including tail at your age! I would be doing between 3-6 a show including my own...it adds up! Xxx

You did way better at clipping chino than I did at clipping my first horse. When I clipped my horse he didn’t want to stand still so the lines of the clippers were really uneven so it literally looked like someone took a weed wacker and tried to cut his hair. Congratulations u did way better than me and I am proud of u
@BluePeace23 жыл бұрын
For the legs generally you stop clipping where the muscle bulges out 😊
@elliehensey76913 жыл бұрын
Yes don't a lot of the designs follow their muscle lines, I think gabby was referring to her picture a little too much instead of tailoring it to chino but it's only her second try I think she did great, but she has so much information in these comments she can learn from hopefully ^-^
@ellacole90673 жыл бұрын
It was her first go, you are too worried to follow any directions haha. I think Gabby done well. As for stopping at muscle.... yes as a clip can enhance and flatter the horse done in a certain way, but when doing a full clip including legs..everything goes. There is no ‘rule’ to clipping, cutting/pulling etc, many of us find what works and what looks good, that is normally individual to each person. Putting hard, very specific rules in just makes people nervous and they end up messing up and never wanting to try again.

Well done Gabby, the more confident you get you’ll feel able to do longer strokes, which is much better ( less lines ) and your clip outline will look better 😊👍 It does take confidence though to commit to doing long strokes to create your lines 😊 remember to oil regularly when using and also clean thoroughly after use, by taking blades off and oil, then they’re ready for next time and will last 👍 my first few clips were terrible 🤣

Being a dog groomer....we always shave the way the hair grows. But we have also shaved the opposite direction (very rarely). Never having shaved a horse I thought you would shave the same way. TIP Gabby next time you clipper Chino make sure you use long strokes with your clippers, lessens the fixing up. Also if you are going to do his bridle path, make sure you use an even stoke , not choppy. This way his bridle path will be even. VERY GOOD JOB FOR YOUR FIRST TIME. JUST REMEMBER NEXT TIME LONG STROKES....DON'T BE AFRAID OF THE CLIPPERS. ALSO GABBY MAKE SURE YOU CHECK YOUR BLADE THEY CAN GET HOT AND BURN SO YOU DON'T HURT HIM. PROUD OF YOU!! P.S. NO LAURA DO NOT TRY ON PENNY YET...OK. I DON'T FEEL SHE IS READY AT THIS PRESENT TIME.
