Thanks for viewing! That was the power shortage of 2014. The BNSF was consistently running colorful consists in and out of NorCal, and even UP was getting in on the fun too.

Great stuff Man! I used to live in Marina Bay so all this stuff makes me homesick! You got into some great spots, some I wasn't game for! 36:24 Quick question, why would a Portland bound train run south from Roseville onto the Cal-P then onto the Sac Sub at Haggin instead of just heading up the I-5 Line from Roseville? Is UP running the track between Marysville Jct and Roseville directionally now? Cheers, Coxy

Thanks Coxy! Glad you enjoyed the material. The video showing the Portland-bound train was shot back in 2012. At the time, there was a work window on that particular day between Roseville and Binney Jct (Marysville). In order to keep trains running, they detoured the I-5 traffic that way just to get to Marysville. Once at Marysville, the trains turned up the valley sub like normal. It wasn't a permanent change, just a way to avoid delays via MoW work. Thanks for viewing!

Ah! Makes perfect sense. Also wanted to mention,including the captions are great, especially when you happen to have the symbol. I'm guessing the last train in your set was Utah coal headed for the Richmond Pacific interchange at Stege. And also purely for self interest, if you happen to be in the area to get some shots, I'd love to see how the east end of Richmond Pacific's 23rd Street Yard looks now the underpass is in. That was still a grade crossing when I moved out east. Cheers, Coxy

Actually, that coal train was an eastbound empty, coming from the Richmond Pacific back to Utah. Next time I'm over at 23rd I'll take a shot for ya.

is the diesel at 24:17 a AC4400?
@Alwaystrains8 жыл бұрын
Not quite. It's a P32-8BWH. Basically Amtrak's version of the B40-8W. Unfortunately they rarely get out on mainline trains nowadays due to crippling HEP problems.
