But because Sam is publicly known as married no one started shipping them. It must be annoying for actors that they can't be friends without fans immediately speculating.

I like that they're such good friends. Daniel seemed to get on great with the whole FTWD cast. And yes, they're just good friends. Daniel's girlfriend was with him at SDCC ;)

@@danshivids7611 He had one when he was at SDCC (fans saw her). She just wasn't famous so not many people knew (only some fans who follow him very closely). And Daniel is a pretty private guy anyway so we don't even know if they're still together now or not. He even mentioned her once very shortly in an interview at the Medici s2 premiere in Oct 2018. There he publicly confirmed their relationship for the first and only time and said that he had been together with a girl for about 2 years already but that he wouldn't say more as they wanted to be private about it. It seems that they started dating sometime in summer 2016 approximately, that adds up with what some fans had speculated before the interview already.
