She is simply amazing. I am a "Muslim" guy and I was in love with "Christian" gal although life took us on different paths I still remember her as if it was just a second ago. Love knows no religion, no race no age just that two heart beats drawn together. God bless.

Are you the Alysia Harris who wrote and performed this poem? If so than I am a huge fan. You (and Strivers Row) should come to Maryland preferebly Frederick to perform. I also fell in love with a girl who was of a different religon (which wasn't really a point of contention) but she was also African (which was). So thank you for all your work. It really helps, sorry for coming off weird. Thank you again for all your great work....

I'm muslim, and my uncle married a christian woman and my cousin is half and half... I know there are a lot of people out there who say you have to be one or the other, but the two religions are so similar I really just don't see why no. If he couldn't be with you, its his decision not his religions.

There are bigger things to worry about my love than whether someone curses or not. I used to share the same opinion as you and then I realized that legalism is not what makes a Christian. It's the status of your relationship with a living God. You know nothing about my life. But you are more invested in cursing than healing, more invested in cursing than truth-telling. Be more focused on what light you give off, and less concerned with taking offense.

I'm not saying she isn't a Christian, and I'm not saying she's a bad Christian. All I'm saying is that it's disheartening to see Christian's in the public eye practice profanity. But that's life. In response to your question: Colossians 3:8, James 3:10. That being said, I still admire both her work and her passion. I still think she's lovely.

I understand that Christianity isn't simply about rules. We seem to have aligned ideas about what it means to be a Christian. I'm sorry if I offended you, and I'm also sorry if I gave off the impression that I'm only concerned about people's shortcomings. Christians aren't perfect, I realize that, but we are called to a different standard. Why should we speak like people who don't know Christ? My sin is no less than anyone else's, but brothers and sisters should be concerned about each other.

Christians and Muslims worship the same "idea" of God. In the Christian Bible Jesus says "No one gets to the father but through me" Meaning to be a Christian and believe in the God of Abraham we must believe in Jesus, in the Christian perspective.

@catfan5000 How does cursing involve being a Christian? Everyone has their style of speaking lol

Could this Muslim guy be the guy that "that girl" was about?
@justmai24766 жыл бұрын
password9319 I don't think so. she wrote a series of love poem regarding this ex, which I don't get the vibe from That girl. it's more of a cry stating that she is woman but human, a lover more than just another girl to sleep with. she's written joy and 100 sonnets closer to ritten (spelling?) house about her Muslim ex though.
@catfan500012 жыл бұрын
@jazzalie1 Yes, He does, but that doesn't mean we should continue sinning. We should be doing our best to abstain from sin. Christians are supposed to be a representation of Christ, and an example to those who aren't Christians. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying she isn't trying, maybe it's a habit that she's trying to kick. But as a Christian myself, and one who truly admires her work, it's pretty disheartening, is all.

I love her poetry, but I hate how she lets everyone know she's a Christian, and then curses not thirty seconds after.
