weight lifting has been proven to actually burn more calories over time than running. Also interval cardio where you are speeding up and slowing down your heart rate will burn more calories throughout the day than if you run at a steady pace for an hour.

I’m trying out this April and I am so scared. I hope I get in cause I feel like that is going to make me happier and more confident in myself. Plus it is a great way to stay in shape because your doing exercise like everyday

Lizy good luck!! It really does change your life in a good way, just remember to stay positive during them and cheer other girls on. If you have any questions be sure to ask the coach/instructor :) and never give up!

I have been doing cheer since I was little. Now that I’m going into middle school we actually have to try out. I don’t have much tumbling but I can probably get my back walkover back and I can do front walkover, cartwheel, roundoff, etc. I do have ok jumps and I do stretch. I also have my heel stretches. And I mean I think I’m pretty peppy😂 do you think I will make the team? (I’m trying out for my school team for football season)

I used to do cheer when I was younger and I was really good!!! but then i got more into basketball and quit cheer. Now I’m trying to get back into it after 4 years 😭 I just need to get my flexibility back bc my legs are still strong enough for jumps and such

yes! weight does not matter to cheer coaches they just want to see skill(jumps, tumbling, flexibility, cheer, chant, dance, etc.)

Mia Harper try and work towards your jumps. if the coaches see you’re working on them, you’ll have a good chance at making it because they’ll see potential. and if you can do everything else well, then you’ll probably do amazing

try just practicing jumping up and down for about a minute on grass or something similar. that’ll help with height. if you practice your jumps with ankle weights on, then it’ll make your jumps a lot better without them
