Thanks for the feature Ash! 🙏 Very honored indeed. They are actually three different jackets 🙂 first one is a plaid seersucker jacket, second one is a cotton navy jacket, and the last one is a linen/wool blend. In the first photo it is actually a denim shirt 😅 which isnt my regular choice in the heat, but works just fine when inside with the AC or in the evening. Haha, I definitely could give my shoes some more love with a good shine 😅✌️ the trousers are indeed a signature style made by my local tailor here in Manta 🙂

Hi Lasse, you have a great sense of how to dress oneself up. Really liked your pictures. Your picture with loafers has inspired me to buy one. I have always liked shoes with laces, be it Oxford, derby or chukka boots. That's why I only have just one pair of penny loafers in black suede. No Chelsea. Didn't know they look this good with cuffed pants. Definitely going to buy at least one pair. Keep going Lesse.....

Hi Ash - another fine video. I totally agree on the "no tie with a button down shirt" philosophy. I personally don't care for sprezzatura at all. Intentionally sloppy still is sloppy, in my opinion. I also agree on the "friendship bracelet" look - its never says "well dressed" to me. But overall I enjoyed the gentleman's look and thought he did a good job. I think I like the last outfit the best, as far as colors go. Keep up the great work!
@lasseholmquisthansen6251

Thanks mate! 😁🙌🏻 I never use the term sprezzatura for my own style myself but I’d say that I don’t think it’s about being intentionally “sloppy” but rather nonchalant and portraying a certain casual and unfussy attitude to one’s style that I personally aim for 😁 btw, it isn’t actually a friendship bracelet (even though I personally wouldn’t mind those either) but actually more of a cultural thing. It’s a “mal de ojo” bracelet meant to keep negative energy from people away 😁✌️

Hard to fathom that we are still having a discussion over whether or not to wear socks with loafers. Unless you are rich enough to sweat into your shoes and ruin them, and unless you slick your hair back and wear lots of bling, you will wear socks with all shoes except sandals.

I agree with the belt requirement and the tucked in ties. What I don't like for me as a short 5'-7" man are 2"" trouser cuffs. They are too over powering for a short man. 1.25" to 1.5" max for me.

Love the black knit tie. Bond wore them, presumably because they can be worn at any level of dress and look a bit posh and subtle at the same time. As regards the bracelet, Lasse would do well to go to a jewelry store and spend some money on a really nice one. I have a “Celtic” torque bracelet I wear daily. A bracelet will add a touch of personality without being overly flashy.

Hey Lasse. You look great. If I may be so bold: - Maybe a bit of polish on the shoes - Keep the tie hanging freely (rather than tucked in) - Get yourself a steel Submariner style watch (or any sports watch that can bridge the smart to casual spectrum). With that on you could keep the friendship bracelet and maintain the style factor.

Ash, I would like to ask you a question. I am 64 years old and live in Dubai. Inspired by you, I am trying to be an intentionally well dressed gentleman. I had bought an unlined linen jacket from a leading fashion brand in the UAE which is made of fabric which is a delightful beige Tartan style self design Scottish check. It was quite expensive also. The problem is that while buying it I did not notice that the jacket does not have a top pocket. I did not notice this when I bought it and hung it in my closet. I noticed it after a couple of months when I took it out to wear it. By that time the period allowed to exchange/return a garment had lapsed. I went to the store and told them about the missing top pocket and they told me that they had a whole line of linen jackets that were designed without the top pocket. And indeed there was a whole range of linen jackets in self designed checks in royal blue, navy blue, mid grey and the beige that I had bought. I feel very self conscious about wearing a jacket without a top pocket, especiallybecauseI love wearing pocket squares. Would it look awkward if I wore the jacket as it is? What should I do about it?
@TheChapsGuide
@TheChapsGuide 9 күн бұрын
It is unusual, but I would say it is acceptable for more casual situation, just be sure to 'dress' the jacket with some other form of focal point - such as a lapel badge or flower.

I'm a fan of the turn-up/cuffed trousers. My ideal cuff is about one and a half inches. Lasse's cuffs look to be over two inches, a little too much for me. Great look and colour combinations. My mother used to say 'Blue and Green Should never be seen, Except on a Gypsy Or a Queen'. I've grown to like that combination but it only works if one of the colours is a pastel shade. Thanks as always Ash....and Lasse.

A quick question regarding wearing chinos with linen jackets: the chinos available in the market today and without pleats and a pressed without a crease in the centre. They are pressed on the sides along with the stitching withbthe result that they look well pressed but the creases are on the sides of rhe trouser legs. Can one wear a linen jacket or a navy blazer with such trousers, or only those trousers should be worn with jackets that have a crease in the front?
@lasseholmquisthansen6251

Hello sir - I’m currently in the market for a new warm outdoor jacket. I already own a few nice pieces, such as a gloverall duffle and a geives wool overcoat. But I’ll be honest - I quite miss my days of old ‘modern’ style puffer coats that I used to wear back before I decided to dress like an adult. I have been searching for a down filled jacket for a few days now that doesn’t have that modern day ‘hooligan’ appearance, but instead remains elegant and sartorial to go with my current wardrobe. Do you know of any type of jacket that uses down insulation, but isn’t a modern style jacket or an extreme outdoors piece of equipment? I have a very nice buffalo shirt, which if you’re not aware of them; buffalo is a British heritage company that manufactures pile lined garments in Sheffield and have done for over 45 years - it is very warm when active. I wear it when walking the dog or ‘dressing down’ so to speak with my jeans and boots. But it just doesn’t go with my smarter clothing, neither is it a down insulated garment. Do you have any suggestions sir?
@ttaker4850
@ttaker4850 10 күн бұрын
I have discovered the answer to my question - kind of. Quilted down or synthetic insulated button up gilets/liners. Go nicely under jackets and other garments. Barbour and Ralph Lauren do some nice ones - not made in the UK though unfortunately.
