j-hope almost left because he was worried about whether or not BTS would ever debut because he was there for three years and it kept getting pushed back and changed. So he thought maybe he should go to JYP (whose audition he passed) but he decided to trust BTS and stay. People are going to say it's about the hate he got during a brief period about a year after they debuted (because someone on youtube or twitter made that up 5 years ago and everyone spreads it around without checking the facts or the timeline) but BTS has talked about this incident now a few times and clarified that it was pre-debut and it was about j-hope wanting to debut and not being confident that BigHit would actually make it happen given their financial setup and the ever-changing lineup and concept. j-hope decided to stay because he trusted the guys. And Jungkook crying for him to stay probably made a dent, too.

Both JHope and Jimin are the Main Dancers of BTS - very unusual for KPop but BTS leads the way. These are the highest titles based on merit for the dance line, and Jimin, if you go back to debut, was the first Main Dancer and then JHope was promoted within a few weeks. Well deserved. A lot of newer fans will tell you that JHope is the only Main Dancer because he is known as the “Dance Leader”, but they’re wrong and all you have to do is look it up instead of accepting fan statements. They’re confusing Lead Dancer (where Lead is next level down from Main like JK is Main Vocalist but Lead Dancer and Jimin is a Main Dancer but a Lead Vocal) with Dance Leader, which is a role or function. While being the Main of anything (dance, vocals, rap) designates rank or merit, each has a particular job that plays to their strengths. JHope is also known (his day job) as the “Dance Leader” NOT the Lead Dancer. JHope runs most of the dance practices and is a stickler for everyone working together. He’s a master at this and runs a very tight ship. Jimin works on choreo, particularly in adapting it to a range of stages, which is his job.He is known for his creativity in making everyone look their best. He also works one-on-one with RM and Jin in particular to help them perform their best. It all works well and everyone contributes. Teamwork for sure. But yes, knowing both Jimin and a JHope are the main dancers is why it was a bonus question.
