Am I Impressed With My 3 Phone Rebel Cases?

Hey man I appreciate the honest and well thought out review. I apologize about the 6 month wait, really should not have opened preorders that early. The manufacturing method we use is not shared by any other company in the $30-40 case segment (co-molding), other companies use heat press which is far easier/cheaper to manufacture. The pursuit of quality led us to also be incredibly late to release. Regarding the asymmetry, yes the front of the iPhone is symmetric but the rear is not, even the speaker grilles aren't. We had to account for the camera in our design, the iPhone 7+/8+ & 7/8/SE cases are symmetric due to the smaller cameras. Simply put, if we did not extend that corner you mentioned, the durability would be shot, that was top priority for this case. The screen protector included is genuine FLOLAB glass, this glass sells for $25 alone. Lastly, yes we are way behind on iPhone 12 & accessories but it's because we are a 3 man team, every dollar we make is going into gen-2 production, really hope to improve this as we grow. Anyways sorry for the essay, just wanted to explain the why. Keep up the awesome reviews!

Honestly I don’t get the complaints. I have one and I love it! It’s strong plus the design is amazing. I feel like you were harder on the case because it took so long for you to get it. I got mine in 8 days

@@o4komodo I have PR Rebel case on my iPhone XS and have been using Pitaka magnetic holder in my car since I received my case (in one week!). It holds my iPhone VERY strong in the car and does not fall off the magnet even when I drive over speed bumps :) However, the smaller magnetic holder that I owned before the Pitaka did not hold the phone as well because the magnets on PR case spaced out farther.

@@Mr69IK Yeah but that's the thing. You're using a PITAKA product with a REBEL product----where I'm pretty sure Rebel mentioned accessories coming. And... If you purposely built your product with magnets in mind it's pretty logical to have your own magnetic accessories. I'm using Pitaka on my iPhone X and thus have MANY Pitaka accessories in 4 cars and at home. My newest phone isn't supported by Pitaka so I slapped on a metal plate and it holds fantastic as well.

Just an update, they’ve completely fixed the shipping issues. I also messed up my stickers and needed extras so I emailed customer support and they sent extras! They actually sent the extras before responding to my email. It was amazing. 10/10 case and customer support. He’s right about the build quality.

I have this case on my 11 right now and I’ve dropped my phone a lot but still no cracks or even scratches.. usually when I put on tempered glass the glass breaks but even that doesn’t crack or scratch. Amazing case.

Mous cases are great the fact that they have lifetime warranty is a huge plus. You can tell them an accident happen send pictures and they will send you a new one for free and you keep the old one. They are well built and the different materials feel great and are eye catching. The raised edges are a bit sharp but they protect a lot if you like putting your phone face down. The protecion is good too I have dropped mine from about chest height into a pile of rocks by accident and it was perfect. Build quality from the inside could be a little better but nothing to be worried about

Just came in the mail. This is the best compact case ever (my opinion). Solid build and balance build. Size is not too much and just right. Case is snug tight fit. Quality is effortless with the most comfortable than any iPhone Case I have ever had. Best clear screen protector and it feels premium, so good that it almost feels like class itself. I bought this case and it arrived a week later in Europe. Case is strong, does what it promises and looks good and the naked sides make it feel super slim. I did not apply their included tempered glass and kept using my own but the borders of the case lifted the old one up so I might have to replace it to theirs eventually. This is a high quality product. Your 6 months delivery is due to it being a pre order.

I finally got my crystal Rebel case for my 11 Pro after my RhinoShield bumper case reached its end of life and I decided that the new 12 could not fill the shoes of my 11 Pro, which continue to serve me well. I regret not getting this case sooner and at $20-$30, it is now a steal! I love/agree with your opinions but this is the first that I have to disagree. I get that the sides are asymmetric due to the camera bump conflicting with the design. However, after over a week of use, I'd rather live with the slight asymmetry to experience the maximum protection with a minimal feeling case, something that no other iPhone case can achieve thus far.

I’ve had one of the Gen 1 “Rebel” cases for 13 months, on my iPhone 11 ProMax. I agree it took a looooong time to get it. But good things come to those that wait. MULTIPLE 50’ drop test is pretty incredible. I COMPLETELY disagree with your “symmetrical” issues. The phone itself, with a cluster of lenses in the upper left hand corner… IS asymmetrical. The Rebel case has protection where you NEED IT. Corners, face and back. In a fall, the phone can’t hit on all at the same time and the most likely place is the corners. Sou put the emphasis on protection there and also the lenses, which protrude… I understood the issues with the supplied stickers, so never installed them. After 13 months? NO scratches! The corners are doing their thing. The phone is HUGE, yet FEELS still like a “naked” phone. And still with excellent protection. When I say “naked”… I carried this phone around for weeks with NO protection, while waiting for delivery. It’s slippery and nerve wracking to carry around naked. With the Rebel case, there are 4 grippy corners and the back, that give a “toe hold” and grip confidence. Anyway, design wise, I was sold. I bought it. The startup was late on delivery. BUT! I have dropped this $1,500 phone (big memory) more than a dozen times to HARD pavement. Not from 50’… no. But from waist level, typical for most. The case itself and especially the phone, ARE PRISTINE. What else do you want? I did not drop it from lack of grip, I have neuropathy in my hands so can’t feel as well as most. Frequently in and out of a pocket, you loose it, especially with frozen fingers. The other drops were actually skitters across a car cockpit while I was driving and taking a hard corner, with the phone unsecured. Still, no drama… AND… you said it, ALL of that for half the price of the competitors (Mous). Patiently awaiting another one of these cases for my new 13 ProMax!

I own the clear frosted version of this for my iPhone 11 and iPhone SE. They’ve been excellent cases but are slippery due to the open sides and extra bit of thickness at those sides between where the phones sides are open and the back of the case is. It’s a little weird to pick up and I’m always extra careful to make sure I have a good grip on it before picking it up. It’s like there’s a small extra step I have to think about before picking it up off a table every time. But the cases protect well and look very unique and I enjoy that and enjoy seeing more of my phones not covered up in a case. The side plastic trim pieces they give you for the side bezels are almost useless in my opinion. I had way to hard a time trying to install them correctly and them staying on.

I get if you hate the design aesthetic, but that’s very subjective and will differ based on the individual so it doesn’t really help us make a decision unless we have the same tastes in design. It’s plain to see how reluctant you were to give this case a recommendation even tho it’s shown to be objectively good on many aspects and features you measures all cases by. I just thought you would be more objective and not let your personal distaste of the aesthetics give you hesitation to recommend an otherwise great case for the value. Tone of voice and body language matters too. You’ve given plenty of other positive sounding reviews with much more eagerness in the past. I personally think some of them look like hot garbage but that doesn’t mean they’re bad cases, it’s just a matter of personal style choice. Anyway I hope this feedback is helpful for making better reviews in the future whether you agree or disagree.

For anyone looking for information about the case hope my comment will help you 1- I really like the case being borderless, I always loved the naked feeling on my phones and it's so much satisfaction 2- the case it strong and will protect your phone from drops, dropped it from 2meters high ( 6feet) and phone survived 3- the case is compatible with skins so you can protect the side from scratches while adding little bit of grip to the phone ( I'm using cheap skins from aliexpress and I change skins every now and then to avoid getting bored )

I bought the case a while ago. The biggest downside was shipping and lack of accessories. I love the actual case but to get it was a PAIN. They took orders even when they didn’t even have the product in stock. And there’s no accessories that are compatible with the case. All in all if you don’t mind waiting a while and waiting until they finally release accessories, it’s a good case

I’m surprised it was actually good (durability-wise). Aesthetically, it has much to be desired of course. Me personally, if I want to feel my phone, I take off the case. If I want protection, I put it back on. I personally just don’t like these kinds of cases that “protects well most of the time” (since most drops land on the corner) because I could just get a case that “protects well all of the time” (corners and rare occurrences when it hits the side or something).

I got the carbon case for my 11 pro max and have been mostly happy about it. My only real gripe with it is that the magnetic plate in it is fairly weak making it flop off my dashboard mount. Not a huge deal breaker, but needing to purchase an adhesive plate for a premium case is a bit of a downer. Customer feedback would be nice on his website. Shipping took me a couple of months. In all I try to support local businesses and really see the hard work that he put in. Hopefully he improves on his concepts. I think the frosted and clear are the ones to get and well worth it.

I would have not dropped tested that case with my phone in it either, great video. Not a fan of that case. I watched your reviews and purchased a Ghostex Atomic and so far it works great for me. i’m getting my iphone 12 one year late. the best accessories are never on the market right away for new generation products, and i get to know almost everything about the phone through long term reviews. If you like quality at a good price avoid the hype train.

I know he claims to be perfecting the cases and that’s why they’re taking so long but I will not bother getting on as I’m not waiting months for a case. If he can do a better job getting the cases in our hands then I’d consider. He seems like an honest guy who’s worked really hard on these cases

Again, the case is well built. Others have noted that their cases arrived quickly. Mine did not.

Aw bro noting about the iPhone is symmetrical; camera is on one side, there’s no large lip on the bottom bumper which empowers your home swipes and there’s an extra speaker hole on the bottom!

That's correct. As I said in the video, Apple has kept the iPhone symmetrical when the device is facing you which is where most people spend their attention. Most aren't aren't staring at the bottom cutouts for hours at a time.
