If the meat is halal certified, doesn't mean the restaurant is halal certified. Please take note that halal does not mean "no pork" only. Halal means the animals are slaughtered according to islamic way. Plus, there shouldn't be any alcohol or pork base or other animal base ingredients or oil, used in the cooking. In Malaysia, if a restaurant sells alcohol, that restaurant is not halal certified.

That was previously a high-end sushi restaurant. Interesting to see that it has changed to a high end yakiniku restaurant. I presume that sushi at the high-end is harder to appreciate the finer points and the target market is smaller than expected in Malaysia. Yakiniku is more accessible for most and more people can understand and appreciate meat quality and grilling.
