idk what happens but basically I think max creates a time loop. there aren't really two realities they both are just a part of a time loop, again cause there is no other max. when she goes back in time to kill safi she just goes back to the original timeline to do it and by doing it she simultaneously creates the alive timeline and destroys it because the alive timeline is tied to the loop so it needs to exist in order for max to make the final choice but once max is out of the time loop - back where it all started - once she kills safi she will no longer be able to shift between realities because the alive reality only exists inside the loop and the loop is now closed. max will probably just go back to the dead timeline where she left off and that will be it. sorry, I'm autistic
