No because you were happy before you had a past and therefore you don't have to cling or crave. This is the lesson of Durga's slaying of Mahishasur. Your assumption that you were born to suffer is an assumption that Durga is unable to kill Mahishasur.

Love Nisargadatta Maharaja but I believe the purpose of the Body/Life is Love and that Life is thus not negation but celebration. I know this is perhaps a more tantric stance. I accept that everybody is different. Then again. I say everybody is purposely different by design for the aforementioned reason. Love.

@@SupremeYogi but again it is not at all what Maharaj means, he is not a yogi nor does he advise yoga. He refers to pure being as prior to consciousness, that which is ever present and unaffected by whatever happens in the manifested reality. He does not mean "leave your body and wander around as a spirit", that may lead you to discover other "layers" to your life than your body and mind but will still belong to the manifestation, and won't be the ultimate reality, which pertains only to pure being.

​@@themiocompare3728 Nisargadatta Maharaj was a great yogi. You can read about his wonderful yogic experiences in his biographical book 'Self-knowledge and Self-realization' as explained by himself. It is only in his later years that he preferred to share higher teachings of the ultimate or absolute reality. It is easy for us to read or talk about the 'Absolute' on an intellectual level, but very few will realize it within themselves. This is why we have suggested the possibility of going beyond the body using simple astral projection practice. It is not merely about wandering around as spirit as you put it. It can give you a taste of the Ultimate very quickly by mere willing. If you doubt this, study the experience of William Buhlman. 'Adventures Beyond the Body' by William Buhlman is a great book with a deep spiritual and scientific explanation of this wonderful possibility, including many detailed accounts of the direct experience of the author.
