Thank you so much Nancy - I'm having the exact conversation with myself right now. I am off to Purl!!! You saved the sweater!

You are the best Nancy! I was so confused and had know idea how to decipher if I was on a purl stitch or a knit stitch. I'm obviously new to knitting and didn't want to make another mistake having to take rows and rows out just to start all over again. Writing notes to myself became annoying and I knew there had to be an easier way to figure it out! Thank you so much Nancy for taking the time to slowly explain in detail how to determine what row we are actually on. I hope you will post some beginner projects so we can knit together!

Thank you Janine. I truly appreciate your kind words. New knitters are my specialty because I love to teach them things they didn’t think they could do. My plan is to start doing start to finish classes online as soon as I can walk again. I live in Minnesota, fell on the ice in early January and completely tore my hamstring off the bone. It’s a long road back but I’ll get there. 🧶😌

Thank you Jennifer for your lovely comments. I appreciate it very much. I’m glad my video helped you out, it’s a very common problem for many new knitters. I have a video on continental knitting and purling. For the record, purling is the trickiest but you’ll get it. All of my videos are with the new knitters in mind. My best advice if you want to master the method is to do swathes in ribbing. That will force you to seamlessly go from one stitch to the other. Good luck Jennifer‼️🧶😌

This was great. How about with the seed stitch? I am new and my issue is memory. I want to knit but can't remember if I knit or purled last.
@WynnKnit4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for commenting and I do have a video on seed stitch. That said, you only need to remember one thing: knit the purls and purl the knits. In fact, if you want to make it easy on yourself, always cast on an odd number of stitches. By doing that, you’ll always start each row with a knit stitch and will never get goofed up. Does that make sense? And just for the record, every knitter was new at it sometime. 👍🧶☺️
