Welcome to Monopoly Plus
It's the Monopoly game we all grew up with as a kid...only this time its in 3D and the salt is even higher!
The game is broken and Ubisoft refuses to fix it. So we are playing "locally" via steam remote play. So when it crashes (And it will) we can load the save back up and not lose all of our progress

Just wanted to point out (if it’s not obvious) Chilled is legitimately the go-to guy for me for content of a guy who makes things entertaining yet still is always being consistently on a level of incredible knowledge about games that can take a lot of mental skill to genuinely be good at it. I actually don't see how Chilled was the bad guy in this video. The outcome of this video came less from deals and scheming and more from just strategy and planning. From blowing all their money early, to making bad faith deals, to misunderstanding the game, it just seems like this ruleset forces more strategy.

Will update as I go through the video: The first auction where noone was understanding how it worked was so funny XD. 41:30 Chilled's acting is diabolical 1:54:00 The Chilledchaos Consultancy Firm Strikes Again! 1:59:00 And once again! 2:06:00 The Slum Lord Strikes! Interesting to note how much money the game takes out of circulation with this auction ruleset. Between the lack of free parking meaning the taxed money is just gone and how much more expensive property acquisition is, in this game alone, at least a couple of thousand was taken away from the initial 7500 split between the players, which meant that while properties were not as hard hitting, until Chilled Scrounged up those third houses, it was also the case that everyone was significantly poorer, and so those third houses on the reds were significantly more impactful.

*Sorry in advance, this is just how I am* As much as i'd love it too. Let's be real, at the very least, it'd have to be every other month or every three months they could play monopoly; for a multitude of reasons. Some being, everyone would get bored watching/playing it, as hard as that is to believe it's true. The players themselves would get tired of the similarities and finding "new" content ways of playing for each individual would get stale for all parties, also the amount of games these mfs cycle through on a Daily Basis gives us the frequency of content we enjoy today. And with all that being said, scheduling/setting up that shit would just be even more a nightmare than I'm sure it already is 😂🤷🏾‍♂️

I remember reading a research paper on monopoly, it was a statistics research paper on what properties were the best to purchase. For lower number of player games you want the lower value properties and with higher player games you want the more expensive properties. I forget the exact number of players that correspond to each color. Was an interesting paper, they figured this out just by using a computerized random dice thrower and having the computer move around the map with differing numbers of players and seeing which properties earned the most.

3 or less, cyan and magenta. 4+ orange and yellow First 2 corners of the board will get the most traffic, yellow with 4+ can/will swing the game around. Red, magenta and green are best posted up for corner plays. (Aka get cyan and pursue magenta, but develop cyan first due to roi). The final leg between cops and go is the territory of chaos goblins. Investments there, while memorable when they do hit, are not favorable. Not that I read the paper. Just my experience. Not comprehensive, just basic battle plan.

You know watching this gives me an epiphany: Everyone should attempt to play a game of monopoly with someone from a generation above you. It really just helps to understand the divide between us humans and the boomers. Junkyard is being offered a property he wants in exchange for a property he doesn't and is getting 100 dollars on top of it and says "No, you owe me more" like 7 times, then when the deal finally gets struck he acts like he's somehow doing this out of the kindness of his heart. Truly baffling.

Not just Junk, most of the people Chilled plays with. They get overly concerned with the total value part of the trade screen, not seeing the REAL value of the trade. Chilled even explains it to them, but they assume they’re getting a bad deal because Chilled gets something that benefits him…..totally overlooking the fact they’re getting a benefit as well.

@blakew5672 well yeah there is that as well, I was moreso talking about Junk getting worked up because people were bidding 2 sometimes 3x the property worth during the auctions, just because the property says its valued at x in the base game does not mean that that is what it is worth to another player in the game and the auction mode more or less proved that, especially when it came to bidding on properties that were gonna hand someone a monopoly, their subjective value of a property changed based on how badly they wanted the property. Rather to gain a monopoly or to prevent someone else from getting a monopoly Of course there was also Kruz who just valid having property in general and was willing to throw stupid amounts of money at every property if she had the means to do so lol

Looking only at MSRP, as it were, rather than what it’s worth to the people willing to spend the money on it. They’ll further apply their idea of value and use it to justify REALLY bad deals and turn down really good ones. I love Chilleds mentality towards the game, and it gets disappointing to see others not play it with a similar level of strategy. They’re still entertaining, but they could be so much more

I loved this, it was short and much more strategical than normal monopoly where people like kruz would hold all properties for hours before anything would happen. No offense to kruz in particular, but i've seen things on this channel where the monopoly game lasted around 100% longer just because 1 person had a monopoly yet no one else was willing to do fair trades.

@@MG_Gambino Sadly, what makes games go on for long when Chilled is playing isn't really someone holding everything, its that some people get told that he is a god at the game and they can't give him an inch. So Chilled will be trying to make a mostly fair deal, maybe favored to him maybe not, and the other person is like 'What's he up to, he's doing something but I don't know what' when Chilled is looking at chat while having discord muted and screaming that he just wants the game to go faster.

Just sort of the early prediction before watching the video. Chilled offers relatively fair deals, but people think he's trying to get one over on them. They proceed to refuse most deals with him and take blatantly bad for them deals from other people. Chilled proceeds to probably win, with people still wondering how it always happens and not realizing that working together is more productive than being hyper competitive. Just like real businesses.
