AM PM | Summer Alpine Bouldering | Ep 05 - Ice Knife Sit Second Ascent

After sending Distortion, it was time to refocus my attention on The Ice Knife Sit Start. Temps in the high alpine had begun to drop, bringing ideal conditions to Guanella Pass. After 17 days, several split tips, a few major beta refinements and one massive punt at the lip, it came together on the night of October 5th, 2022 with a first go send of The Ice Knife Sit for it's second ascent.

I used to live in Seattle and see a young Drew tear through every boulder at the gym. He was overflowing with psyche. Cool to see him push himself to this level. He was amazingly good even then so I can't imagine how hard this freakin boulder must be.

Great video. It's nice to see that you are highlighting the process and how important it is. I am finding that more and more I am being dragged into the idea that flashing or fast ascents are the only metric for how good you are. It can be very disheartening and really affects your mental state. Persistence should be encouraged more. Thanks again for a great viddy!

That’s just how I climb, if I’m sending a boulder I’m in flow state and it’ll feel/look easy. If it doesn’t I’m probably falling haha
