In this video we discuss about, Recent update on India's 114 fighter jet tender MRFA.. The Indian government has now put a new condition in the MRFA contract that 114 fighter jets will be made in India instead of 96. Moreover, to make these 114 fighter jets, it has been made mandatory to set up a full aircraft production unit in India. To get the MRFA contract, the French company Dassault Aviation has offered its Rafale, the American Boeing has offered its F 15 EX or F 18 Super Hornet, Lockhead Martin has offered F 21, the Swedish company Saab has offered its Gripen and the Russian company Sukhoi has offered its Su 35 to India. The planning of all these companies was that they will set up their assembly line in India. And by importing the parts from their respective countries to India, assembling them, they will fulfill the order of 114 fighter jets of India. But under the new policy, to get the MRFA contract, these companies will not be able to import parts from their home country. Rather, they will have to manufacture every single part of their fighter jets in India. In return, the Indian government will give them not 15 to 20 but a full 23 billion dollars. But the condition is that they will have to manufacture their parts here by partnering with a local company in India.
