The Indian-origin Presidential candidate stepped down as the CEO of Roivant in February 2021 but remained as the chair of the company’s board of directors until February this year when he announced his presidential campaign.

I think your expert was not able to answer the reason for primaries in the US election. As the American democracy matured, they faced the same problem as india is facing right now “High command culture”. To break the power of high command they brought in primaries, so the card carrying members of a particular party vote for the candidate they want to get the tickets for there parties. H1-B is worst type of Visa. Applicant is sponsored by a company control his employees till they get Green card. Some time they are paid less than normal wages. The process is very slow and takes a long time between 6 to 12 yrs. BUT if that company is closed or it fire the applicant before getting Green Card, then he is no where. He had to go back to his country of find a new sponsor to apply for Green Card and time again starts from Zero. It means again 6 to 12 yrs. That is why it it was news few months back that about 400,000 Indians may never get green card in their life time, just waiting for it, in the list. Mostly South Indians have come on this visa. It means they have no legal status or right in visa, except working visa. Vivek is right and he has said that he will start a new visa under which no one wait in linger to get green card. I agree with him. I am Citizen, no problem.
