Thanks for the tour of your neat radios. Your explanation of AM stereo was spot-on. I have the Sony A-100 as well as the A-300 radios, plus a couple of Carver TX-11A home tuners. I also own and operate an AM station here that does indeed broadcast in C-Quam AM stereo. Sort of debunks the stigma that AM was ever a low-fi medium when in these demonstrations anyone can see it is definitely not lo-fi. Chaps like I and yourself have known that for quite some time now though. By the way the Chris Cuff is an excellent little Part-15 compliant transmitter board with built-in C-QUAM stereo encoding. What power output level does your booster amp do?

Thanks so much for your message. The booster delivers up to 2 watts on the bench. Best wishes Howard.

I actually have that little Sony SRF-AX15 transistor radio. Got it from the late Chris Cuff not long before he passed away. Also have an AM Stereo exciter transmitter that I got from Greece - does upwards of a watt output on a good day with the wind blowing behind it! Good for a bit of fun at home, and it has full 15kHz of audio bandwidth. Just a pity that very few receivers capable of decoding AM stereo go much above about 7kHz. The only recent exception is the Kiwi SDR, although currently discontinued so hard to get at a decent price. All the best, Rodney.

Thank you for this video. I bought a Chris Cuff tx and the Sony SRF-A300 from Japan around 2006 as well. Intrigued by the amplifier and antenna you are using.

Guess you don't want to sell your Sony STS500 you brought from Japan ?

@@avtransfersUK ah really. Have you tried receiving Radio studio X on 1188 at night ? That's stereo as you probably know? Has the 500 been converted to 240v btw ?
