Amazing Run!! Those remixes from some soundtracks (Especially from the nest and distribution center) are amazing, and the omegas slowly evolving into queens was a nice touch... just wow.

Thanks! The Tourian remix, that sounds after the hatchling cutscene, was made by Luminist. I had to loop this one too. I love am2r. This should be the standard for Metroid games going forward. I really am not keen on the new direction they are taking these games legitimately. Nintendo are trying to sink one of their biggest ships I’m fucking sure of it. By the way you got insanely lucky with this seed. I doubt it was as random as it appears to be. You know exactly what power up you want next and you know where it is. You picked a seed that gives you power bombs right off the bat and then after doing a run through and mapping it on a tablet or paper you plotted your route then recorded your play through. That’s what happened. Still, you’re pretty good at the game. Makes me wish I had more time to play it at this level.

Oh I already knew about the seed because this is the set seed category. I think I memorized the locations of the items, then I made routes and finally chose one for how fast it was. In the case of the random seed category, I just play a random seed for one time, the main thing about this is that I have to improvise the route on the go. This is on old version tho, the latest released is 1.5.5, which is just bugfixes compared to 1.5.5 I recommend this set seed run which currently is my best time and it has the current best seed: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rX_Mf5RmZrKmhdk

This was really cool to watch. I don't like Fusion so I"m not going to play Fusion mode, but there is something I have wanted to comment on since I played 1.5. At 1:12:16 when you fight the first Omega in The Nest...I noticed it has a different sprite compared to the others you fight. The head is different (spikey almost skull like). The other Omegas don't look like this. Was this on the original 1.1 of the game or was it tweaked later ot do you know? Kind of interested if they were inferring anything with that one being different. Like it was fully matured or maybe getting ready to mutate again.

oh that was added after 1.1, yeah it was kinda the same reason as the alphas with different designs like some with more horns or others with extra legs. Also, the latest version currently is 1.5.5 and there's quite a bit of changes.

Isn't it theoretically possible to get to the Genetics Laboratory as soon as you get the Screw Attack? Once you get the Screw Attack you can get into the Distribution Center for you to go to the Tower, then use the secret distribution tube there to get to Area 2 and then use the secret distribution tube THERE to then go to the Genetics Laboratory? I assume that something stops you from doing that before all of the Metroids are defeated. Is it just that the door connecting the tube to the Gen Lab is grey until opened from the other side?

That shortcut is blocked until you kill the Omegas in the nest, so you are forced to kill all the metroids to open the path to area 6.

@@jeweledirisI'm playing on 1.4.3, the devs probably changed something between 1.4.1 and this one. I know that you can disable drops in Fusion mode if you go to the modifiers.ini or by activating Insanity mode which follows almost the same settings as the official 1.1 + save stations are disabled.

The track is the Analog synth remake of Tourian by Luminist. To put the new tracks in the game you have to convert them to ogg and then rename the file with the same name of the track you want to replace so the game recognizes it.

That's an underwater zip or jet zip, you have to walljump then morph and turn around. Morphing stores the "walljump" and it gets released after turning around. The game sticks Samus to the next collision instantly because there is no wall to do the walljump, but the jump was already made. This can be done in the surface too but it's much harder because you have 2 frames to walljump and cause the zip by destroying the tiles or doors.

That's actually a glitch in the game. I zipped by doing a walljump then morph to store that walljump, then I change directions to release it and appear on the other side. The game just sticks Samus to the next solid as soon as possible.

It's ok, there's some things that don't have an explanation in the AM2R subreddit. You have to open the modifiers.ini file and locate Use manual seed and change it to 1, then add your number below. Save and open the game.
