Mozart had a narcissistic, ridiculously controlling, money and fame hungry father, I feel for Mozart. His father wasn't the musical prodigy his son was, so I'm sure he was secretly jealous of his talent, an immense talent his father lacked. His father was so ingrained in Mozart's head, Mozart was afraid of his father, afraid of upsetting him and disappointing him in anyway his whole life. Mozart was under his father's thumb since the age of 3, when his father discovered he was a musical prodigy. Even as an adult, his narcissistic father wanted total control over his adult son. I understand, I have a narcissistic controlling mother, who has made my life hell. I'm 46, and her psychotic need to control me and everything I do has gotten to a clinically insane degree, literally. 😥

Mozart was broke because his father had the bulk of his earnings. It was insulting for his father to leave his fortune to Mozart's sister especially when his wealth came from Mozart.

@76Draeger Жыл бұрын
Your comment has more false info in it than a politician's campaign speech. Mozart had virtually nothing to do with his controlling father or his sister after they rejected his wife and he never returned to Salzburg after that. He lived job to job the way a lot of people live paycheck to paycheck so he died without savings, not truly broke. He was buried in a mass grave because the Emperor previously outlawed individual grave sites for everyone except nobility and individual coffins were outlawed as well. Your ignorance would be laughable if it weren't so prevalent

The concerts were successful but financially the trips were expensive and the profits were not always in the favor of the Mozart family. Frau Maria Mozart died on the last trip when Leopold had to remain home to make money. Mozart was in fact not received well in Paris and was devastated when she died.
