Just got back from there. Aman is world class. Whenever you step off the elevator, someone is there to greet you and see what you need. The room was spectacular. We had the room featured here only ours was a suite with an additional living, dining, kitchen, desk area and powder room that was all the same size as the room featured in this video--so ours was literally twice the size. Amazing. We immediately started to look online to see where else in the world we could stay in an Aman hotel. Loved every minute.

There are countless fine dining options in Tokyo. These days for sure no country can match Japan's standards (this also applies to airlines). The country pays extraordinary attention to detail. The city has the most Michelin Star restaurants in the world - even more than Paris! No criticism, but Tokyo has hotels (including ryoukan) and restaurants, that would be very hard to match. It has had a long tradition of extraordinary service and hospitality hat unlike places such as France or Switzerland, it has managed to maintain. But this is no Singapore or Dubai. Understatement and minimalism is also a traditional Japanese trait. Conspicuous consumption is not something they like. More than other countries, the Japanese have been able to contain the excesses of the super-rich. It is has the most equitably distributed wealth and income distribution in the world.
@littleb92985 жыл бұрын
I agree with you except the final sentence. While Japan is nowhere close to the worst of the world, she is also nowhere close to the best of the world, in terms of fair income.
