Amanda would be wise to join a fitness program or become involved in martial arts such as TaeKwonDo, Japanese Karate, etc. This would give her the opportunity to be around people who would support and encourage her to achieve set fitness goals - rather than try to do it on her own. As a former martial arts practitioner and instructor for 50+ years, I have experienced the transformative power of martial arts and seen many people turn their lives around. Amanda was/is an amazingly talented actor who is beloved by many long-time fans. I could envision her pursuing a black belt and then hiring a ghost writer to work with her on writing a book on her life, including her problems and successes. This would open the door for her to make public and television appearances and participate in podcasts in support of her book. This would also present significant opportunities for her to make a major comeback as an entertainer as well as once again have a positive impact on her huge fan base. God bless this lovely and talented young lady!

I, too, have battled depression for many years. I'm now in perimenopause and discovering my metabolism isn't what it used to be. I've always been one of those people who can eat whatever they want and not gain weight. I only have about 10-12 lbs to lose, but I don't even know how to start. I've eaten crap all my life, lol. Between this and my face breaking out, my self-esteem has definitely taken a hit. I hope Amanda reaches all her goals and keeps fighting the good fight!

She is just a bit younger than me and as we get older our bodies don't go back to the 110-120 like they use to. I'm 5'4 and about 150lbs, I feel good and like how my clothes look, that is all that matters ❤

Yeah, I was 110 when I had an ED as a teen, and my body didn't want to weigh that low. My body liked being 120ish. I'm concerned she wants to weigh that amount. Amanda is 5' 7" and I'm 5' 4.5". Of course, all bodies are different, although 110 sounds low for someone at her height. I'm rooting for her to feel better in all facets of her life. One day at a time!

I wish we (as a society) didn't put so much pressure on ourselves to look a certain way. Weight gain doesn't automatically mean unhealthy. Do your best to focus on now. Right now you aren't going to be your previous weight. Right now you can focus on other things that are important to you. It sounds like you're getting movement in, and that's great! Take care. 💙

The goal is not to be as in our 20s, or 30s, but to be healthy. Peri menopause and menopause come with weight gain, especially fat, the metabolism is slowing, the rate of muscle mass and bone density loss is accelerating, as we age. I think any type of exercise and a healthy lifestyle are a must , from 40s, if did not had it before
