Honestly, the smiles looked very cheerleader. With dancing you get into the character and you breathe their persona with your dancing. It includes the expression.

Yes but the greatest facet of this show is that it allows young dancers a chance to grow through critiques and working alongside prominent choreographers. Many of the people who have been on the show didn't have superb auditions, either. For instance, Lauren Froderman and Pasha. But they were able to improve because the judges saw potential.

dancing is another form of acting. It's a way for people to express emotions through their body, with no exception to the face. Smiling while dancing to choreography that just screams pain and sadness is like an actor smiling in a sad scene. Just like how actors put themselves into character before they go on stage, dancers should do so as well.

but i think the fact that she's happy, and dancing for her family and most of all her father.. and its kind of a depressing song.. its shows how her family is.. turned and saddened by what their father has and is going thru, put a haappy face on and appreciate the time they have with him. Thats how i saw it. It was great.

Beautiful dancer. But I do not like this dance with this song. This song is so emotional and raw. Her dancing is like an athletic showcase of her skills (not that there is anything wrong with that) but I would have liked a more emotional dance to Breathe Me for sure

I didn't really find any issues with her smiling. It shows that she was enjoying herself. As a fellow dancer, I can say, it's fun for me...and I always find myself with the biggest smiles especially during my lessons. Also, smiling shows that you LOVE what you are doing, and I feel that if you do not love what you are doing, then what's the point? It needs to be fun or else it's just not worth it, IMO.

Bell turns get a little complicated with dance paws, especially when you don't how slippery or clean the surface you're about to dance on is. I know I've screwed up my toes doing turns at competitions in dance paws before. The last thing you want to do when auditioning for something like this is mess up your foot. I would have done the same thing.
