Jeannie could’ve been saying something relevant. But either way, she didn’t need to cut Amanda off when she’s talking about something that’s she’s more educated about. I like that Amanda is on the show. She makes a great addition, and she’s honest. That being said, I don’t think they added her in hopes of creating tension between the hosts. I do think that reading that comment on tv was out of line. The hosts are all women of color. But I wonder if any of the producers are of color, especially given Loni’s reaction. I feel like concerns were probably already voiced about not reading that on tv, and that they went ahead and included it in the show anyway.

BTS REDVELVET JOY hotel deluna iu vagabond suzy everyone is entitled to their opinion but the point is that Amanda was interrupted by Jeannie, who was trying to change the subject when only one person has voiced their opinion to the question. This is how all topics around race are treated and it’s bullshit! I could say the same if the question really was about mental health or some other topic too! Let everyone have a say PERIOD. Jeanie wants to boast about dating a black man but then interrupts a conversation about an issue concerning people of color? So why you with a black man if you not ready to deal with ALL the issues that come with being a person of color? This is what bothers me about interracial dating. If I were a single black woman dating a man outside my race, he better be ready to deal with and stand by every issue I have to encounter, not try and change the subject or brush it under the rug. Don’t tell me you love me as my non black partner but then want me and everyone around to get hush when the real issues arise

Yeah but they aren’t real. If you notice they tend to have rose colored glass view on everything. They can never see things for exactly what they are, and talking about it. For instance, they could be talking about a deadly thunderstorm and 3 out of 5 will say that it is “beautiful because God wanted to wash the earth in order to have a fresh start,” while the others will say that “the thunderstorm ravaged the city.” They do not like to call a spade a spade, and most of their viewers are the same say. They Tamara, andJeannie talk about peachy world of interracial dating but completely discuss racial relations on a superficial level.

I think I’m the only one that thinks what the Asian lady said wasn’t out of pocket, completely irrelevant or even that deep regardless. Its a talk show, I don’t watch this talk show specifically but I assume the ladies bounce of each other in discussions? Like normal conversations? And even if m it didn’t seem intentional or malicious enough to criticize much. It’s was a civil rights movement and the fact that metal health is on the the decline from a time of explicit racism is note worthy. Racism and oppression have an effect on mental health. Also I don’t think it’s the same or has gotten worse from the 50s. A time of lynchings, segregation, and explicit racism to the racism we have today is definitely significantly better. What does a comment about mental health have to do with MLK/civil right movement. A lot imo. To go from a time where statistically lives have gotten better and better standard of living yet mental health os apparently declining. This isn’t about me disagreeing with her opinion I just don’t think it was purposefully disrespectful or all that irrelevant that the Jeanie lady interrupted. Maybe she does this a lot idk I don’t watch this show I just like this channel. Edit: I rewatched the clip and I can kinda see the rudeness a lil better.
@nairabee2454 жыл бұрын
Katrina Shelise I wasn’t talking about Amanda. Mostly this video and others with similar criticisms. Also it’s a talk show, in regular conversations and on other talk shows back and forths and interjections happens all the time. Not really of a disrespectful nature that’s just the energy and cadence of the conversation. Also someone else commented that the Jeanie lady gets interrupted regularly yet no one got mad about that🤷🏾♀️ idk if that’s tru, but if it’s is then why do people care now? also what she was interrupting about wasn’t irrelevant; race relations, racism, and oppression have detrimental mental health effects on the people targeted. And although that isn’t what DR king fought for I can’t imagine he would see it as a good thing that even tho things have gotten better, mental health is declining. I mostly still don’t see where it was out of pocket, (a lil, but not really) nor was it even all that irrelevant.
