Such a beautiful song by an equally talented and beautiful lady. I just found Amanda after finding Jason and listening to her play with him. I knew she had her own band but hadn't checked it out yet because I have been so enthralled with Jason, so when I finally took a look and found her stuff all I can say is wow. A very unique style that should be blowing up the air waves. This lady is every bit as special as her husband and I love the way these two support and build each other.

I'll never forget that quote she made about recording something and the sound guy said, 'more note, less goat'... i cracked up at that one

Judson Clayto Not sure what that means??? I have a few cool Amanda stories. She is a badass
@judsonclayto78138 жыл бұрын
she was kinda critiquing herself in that interview... it made her seem more real than your average songsters that are so full of themselves... the downside, i hear goat sounds in between breaks in her words... i've only caught her live once... i was more than impressed... and proud that Jason pushed through the past...

There is something magic about the way she slides from minor to major on the harmony in "belieeeeve me." Very cool stuff.

I saw Amanda as support for John Prine at the London Palladium in April 2017. This song stood out in her set even then, despite the heat of anticipation engendered by the proximity of one of one's musical heroes. Since then it has stood up on its own for me and I have played it many times. This video ain't too shabby either!

Just saw the Joan Crawford movie, Mannequin. There’s a scene with Joan’s character and her no good husband waiting for a train. Joan utters a similar line, “Where’s a train when you need it?” Joan’s another Texan. Hope Amanda has seen this movie.

Such a cute video and song, different but still has a story behind it. I love songs that do, altho it's not totally needed all the time. Not many women will go w/out makeup and do a closeup like this, of course she's adorable so who cares, right?! I admire her unusual taste, which is a compliment, in all of her work.

+Susans Soul Shines You are right; not many women would make a video like this one. But Amanda isn't most women. She is one impressive lady! ;)
@charleyrettig20118 жыл бұрын
And the lack of all the makeup and confidence in being herself is something too rare, women like that seem to have something about their personalities, I can't help but seeing them as having a strong but pleasant personalities. Even more open and honest in fact.

A ton of us guys wish we could see the real you, not to be undeceived, but because we want to see YOU. My wife has never excessively painted herself. She's beautiful because she just is. Women are. You don't have to be a cute as Amanda (I'm not even close; I scare crows). Just rock it, girl!

Amanda Shires's albums West Coast Timbers and Carrying Lightning are absolute masterpieces! I got to see her perform in a very intimate setting at an Art Gallery in my hometown of York, PA 10 years ago when she was age 29. The same year this video was shot! She has been doing a lot of covers of pop songs of the past 1980s songs and I'm not really digging it. She is much more talented than that. And she has to get that lousy husband of hers off the stage. Every other video I see has to have him on stage with her and he's in the Forefront and they have her either back to the side or behind him. I don't see the big deal about the guy who be honest. But he is one lucky man! He should cherish Amanda every single second. While at the art gallery before her performance I got to meet her and she is nothing but a living doll and a lot of fun!
