Best cover indeed! However, it would have been the same thing if Loren sang it second...why? Cause she also made it her own from the beginning, that is why they first wanted her as a coach and then ended up asking her to sing it for the movie. And after that she kept adding to it, never betraying her unique style. If Amanda would have been the first singing it, you would probably be just as shocked - in a good way - when hearing Loren's version, as you probably were when you first heard the song in the movie, not knowing that it was not the actress singing it. I know i was, i went all crazy, and i sing too and am not easily surprised. About Amanda, i would say: finally someone just as talented and unique as Loren, someone who doesn't sing to prove anything, she brings her soul into the song. Beautiful!

World renowned opera singer, Leotyne Price, when asked what made the Black operatic voice difference, she replied, and I paraphrase; 'it has a certain smokey quality to it!' To some, it may sound raspy, and, in dee,d some voices are raspy but Amanda's voice definitely has that smokey quality in the upper range.

@@atoyshabassene6273 A recent bout of bronchitis can leave a mucus coating on your vocal chords. That is what causes the raspiness you hear in your voice. Try a tablespoon of honey with a few drops of lemon juice mixecd in a few times a day for a week. See if that helps. (Speaking from experience.)

I've been obsessed with all of these MANY covers on KZbin. This is a very skilked and beautiful song. Most are comptent attempts. A few are quite good. Even fewer, almost there. But, only two, that I've heard are as competent, emotive, asendent and just as wonderful as Allred's prefect original. One was an almost exact copy. But, your's is not only THE superior cover of this song, it's a stunning interpretative variation!!! Damn delightful to hear.

I would agree mostly with your comment but I don't think it's a 'bit of pop'; she is an R&B artist and it is that element that she brings to the song that makes it distinctly her rendition! While the word 'cover' is is a usable technical term, I feel that some singers do their unique 'rendition' which is for more complex than just a cover version but it's just nit picking; which ever term you use, she has made the song her own, with due respect to Adele's original!

This is by far one of the best versions of this cover song. Miss Amanda Cole keeps it real and soulful but so creative in bringing out her definition of what this song is saying, and what her heart is feelin. Shes totally SLAYIN IT!. Thats thee unusualness about Amanda, and other peoples cover of this great song. A lot of other people version of this song were lit too. But Miss Amanda Cole is IT 4 ME! My other choices are Eevie Mckinney fr the US and the amazing n gifted singers from the Philippines. Morisette Amon, Katrina Verlarde. Their cover of this song is also amazing. Im sure everyone has their favorites n how they like the style of the way they sing it. Both faultless and with individual contrasts, Glennis, clean and precise, Amanda, raspy and dynamic and you know they will hit every last note with goose bum generating vocals. I really appreciate the way this song was artistically tailored to suit your voice. You not only gave focus to the high notes, but you didn't neglect the lower notes but instead made every note something appealing to listen to. Using this song as an opportunity to showcase your vocal control as well as your impressive range. It sounds like a completely different song, which is what I believe a great cover should be. You should be able to take an existing track and making it your own so we get to hear and understand you as an artist, otherwise it's just karaoke.
