Love you Amanda but I have to disagree about coconut oil being hydrating to the the skin. It’s an anti humectant and very comedogenic especially for oily or acne prone skin. I’ve used coconut oil in the past and I stopped because my skin had become very dry.

I don't know what men you're looking at. But the ones I see age like curdled milk! As a skincare professional, I will warn that coconut oil can be comedogenic, which means that it can clog pores. It is not recommended for the face! Keep in mind that just because something works for Amanda does not mean it will work for you. It's important to see a professional and get help with your specific concerns, as this is exactly why we do what we do.

Warning: coconut oil is highly pore-clogging. It does do a fantastic job of removing makeup but it is very hard to remove it all and it causes acne very easily. Nothing against you, Amanda, but I just thought people should know.

Coconut is a very heavy, nourishing, and antibacterial oil. It’s best for body/hair, but a little to heavy for the skin (which is why it clogs pores). I agree with the commenter above, Jojoba or Argan oil are better options for the face

I think anti-aging is a scam, but preventative aging is a better term to use. Things like the sun and environmental pollutants depending on where you live (especially in big cities) can age you a little bit faster. Using things like sunscreen and antioxidants/vitamin C to help UV damage and fight free radicals slows down that process.
@samanthaamendez22 жыл бұрын
Yesss I love these products! The only one I’m scared to try is the coconut oil because I break out easily and heard it can be heavy. @AmandaEnsing2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the kind words! I did respond to a few comments on it. My personal opinion is that diet is the best sunscreen & most mainstream sunscreens have cancer causing agents (several popular ones have been recalled the last 2 years). Since the creation of SPF, skin cancer has risen. Go down the trail of researching & comparing data and learning about ingredients in sunscreens. Jojoba oil & coconut oil are 2 natural alternatives that help block rays. The sun does have many healing properties 😊 I spend a lot of time in the sun and pay attention to how much I get. I haven’t gotten burnt since eating more natural, organic foods & using oils.

Thank you for this 🙏 when I was younger, neutrogenia was my “go-to”, but it was designed to have quick results, but your skin REVOLTS as soon as you stop your regimen. Same goes for “anti aging” in modern skincare. I think there’s a placebo effect and also a false promise that if you start the anti-aging younger, the results will pay off later. What your skin really needs and wants is nourishment. Your skin on your face is pretty sensitive for most people, so we need less ingredients and simplification. @@AmandaEnsing Oh wow that make sense! And I never would’ve thought to use coconut/jojoba oils; I definitely need to try that. I have heard people say that chemical sunscreens actually made them burn so that’s probably why I always burn when I use them 😱 However, I’ve also burnt when not using any sunscreen or other protection when at the beach or pool. So would coconut/jojoba oil be enough protection for the beach/pool or should I add a mineral based sunscreen? That’s what I’m worried about. But no, I’ve never been one to be scared of the sun. I don’t ever wear sunscreen just to go outside or exercise outdoors; just for sun bathing at the pool or beach. I know it has so many healing benefits and that we were not meant to be afraid of it. I will never understand the people who can’t leave the house without putting sunscreen on.

I have the rodan and fields scrub and my face feels fantastic after exfoliating with it but it does nothing for my skin. Should I exfoliate my face and if so what is a pure natural mixture to do so? Also is there a sunscreen for my face that you recommend? Every time I’ve tried using coconut oil on my skin, I break out immediately. Not saying that only comedogenic/noncomedogenic matters, but it is important to consider. There are other oils that can be used for cleansing that are non comedogenic. I just think it is misleading how you said “you can use coconut oil no matter what type of skin you have,” because that’s definitely not the case and people should be aware that it may cause a reaction for them.

@@AmandaEnsing i disagree, there’s certain oils that work on different skin types. Coconut oil breaks me out and I’m acne prone.
