Congratulations. You will love using it. Monograms and small designs are great to embroider. Plus you have Mickey and Minnie on it. In all the years that I have embroidered, I mostly used the small hoop anyway. Good choice. Enjoy.

Oh and I love Sulky and Maderna thread. I save the stabilizer that I cut off so I can reuse it on another project if there is a smaller hoop you can buy. The stabilizer gets expensive! I’m so excited about seeing all the sweet things you’re going to make.

Oh, you are going to have so much fun. Think of all the great Christmas gifts you can make. People love personalized gifts. Besides the patterns that come with your machine there are skads of them online to download. I was ok with Sulky thread but I did find that I needed to use embroidery bobbin thread in my machine. I can't wait to see all the things you'll be making 😍

Hi Amanda, I have just bought a janome embroidery only machine. I have done a few samples only from in the machine,I have collected a few more threads and it’s great. Very relaxing. It’s like needing all the colours of textas. Have fun . Julie Tasmania Australia. ❤️

Omg! You will enjoy having an embroidery machine. I started with a Janome 350e and up graded to a 550e because I wanted more hoop space. I use Embrilliance software for adjusting or designing something. I like to make some in the hoop bags. You’ll have to lookup in the hoop aka ith projects. Have fun & looking forward to watching you learn all about it. 👏🏼

Buy good thread. You don’t use it as fast as you think you will. I’ve only run out of black in my experience with machine embroidery. Use bobbin thread not regular thread in the bobbin. It’s finer and doesn’t clump up like regular thread on dense designs.

My tips: NEVER use cheap thread. Find which your machine likes and don't use anything else. Whatever speed it says....slow is down a notch. In embroidery, faster is not better. Change the needle more often than you would for standard sewing.....it's going fast and wearing out faster. If you have old cotton thread, get rid of it. Just like fabric, it deteriorates. I stopped embroidery to delve into quilting full time, so I'm selling my machine. You can go as far and as big as you want Amanda. It's all out there. Enjoy!

I purchase a Brother Embroidery PE550D which does not sew. I just wanted one that does not sew. I watch a video on KZbin where she showed how to make design that is bigger than an 4 by 4. She show the word Spr ( whichj filled out the hoop) then she stitch ing. I was a neat video. Have you try this way ?

Hi, yes I only do Quilt Show videos but due to COVID, I haven’t been to a show in 2 years. Hopefully I will be back again soon. I’d love to make more KZbin videos but I just don’t have the time unfortunately.
