"Amanecer" is a song composed by Chilean musician Vicente Bianchi in 1941. It was part of the soundtrack for the film "Amanecer de esperanzas" directed by Miguel Frank. The song gained significant popularity at the time, becoming a staple in radio talent shows and was even used as an orchestral piece at the beginning of screenings at Santiago's Rex cinema.
The lyrics of "Amanecer" were written by Alejandro Saa Silva. Over the years, the song has been interpreted by various artists, including the renowned Mexican singer Pedro Vargas. Vicente Bianchi himself recorded the piece on multiple occasions, both as a pianist and as a conductor of his orchestra.
In 2010, at the age of 90, Bianchi recorded a piano version of "Amanecer" for his album "Con su piano a los 90," fulfilling a promise to his late wife, singer Hely Murúa.
The song holds a special place in Chilean music history and was notably performed by soprano Verónica Villarroel during Bianchi's funeral in 2018, honoring his legacy.
