All that beautiful stone in the area and they had to pour bland, lifeless, cold concrete. Extremely unappealing. I've been through that desert and it is not just grey. They missed the mark on that one. Approaching the property, it looked like a prison. And the water dripping from the two bare pipes in the stairwell on the way to the room seemed really cheap. They could have made that look a lot neater. I love the desert, but even if I could afford to stay there, I wouldn't.

I was well familiar with Amangiri but this was the first extensive tour I've seen of the resort. The rooms seem small and many of the walkways are a bit claustrophobic, but I love the architectural orientation toward the amazing views everywhere you go. Simply stunning. The food choices and presentation are nothing short of 3 star Michelin level. The pool built around that rock formation is unreal. What a unique lux resort experience.

I do like a minimalist approach to luxury and i do like industrial design. But this place follows too much the style of brutalism and feels empty. I would wish for more texture and warmth. I guess, thats what they were aiming for.
@xr6lad9 ай бұрын
I love it and I suppose they are trying to fit in to the desert - but I understand what you are saying. I also think sometimes these places are so small they seem empty - I like a bit of a bustle myself so I could sit and chat. I must say at night with the lighting etc the resort takes on a more warm feel that is outstanding.

I was in love with this place until you arrived at your room. So tiny! Smallest "king size" bed I've ever seen in the USA, pressed between desk and couch. The "welcome amenities" (green apples) are outrageous for that price range!

@nolanivane44778 ай бұрын
The bed is actually pretty big in person. It looked smaller I reckon because of the concrete wall (can't recall how they call it) at the foot of the bed. Also, the arrival amenity is actually the few select bite-sized desserts in the middle of the coffee table. The reason why there are green apples there is because there are green apple trees around the property, mostly in the mesa side courtyard. Also for the price range, I would say it's pretty decent compared to other Amans as Amangiri is an all-inclusive resort so you'll only have to pay for alcohol, spa treatments and excursions/experiences.

Yes, it is an excellent place. However, I am not a fan of the concrete walls. They remind me of the construction of the lesser-advantaged area of Phoenix, AZ, in the 1970s-a kind of desert brutalism. But then again, I guess I have been spoiled for this. We have owned some spectacular homes in the Scottsdale/Phoenix area that rivaled any resort one could find. At one of our houses at the Estrella Mountain, there was a tarantula that lived in my front yard. I would go out at 3 am and have conversations with it. It actually seemed to be listening. The scorpions were less engaging. They would more than likely sting you if you got too close. The only snakes I ever saw were in the pool. Yeah, this resort has a great setting. I love the desert. Being afraid of heights, you will never find me doing your athletic feats. Congratulations on your adventure.

Stunningly beautiful modern architecture rises majestically from the desert landscape, blending concrete, water, and timber in a harmonious symphony of design. The stark contrast of sleek concrete structures against the vast, arid expanse creates a captivating visual spectacle. Architectural marvels seamlessly integrate elements of water, reflecting pools shimmering under the desert sun, offering a serene oasis amidst the harsh environment. Timber accents add warmth and texture, contrasting with the rugged surroundings while providing a sense of natural balance. Each element, meticulously crafted and thoughtfully arranged, contributes to an awe-inspiring composition that celebrates the marriage of contemporary design and the timeless allure of the desert. just fantastic
