Malcolm Nance: “We Are on the Last Leg of the American Experiment” | Amanpour and Company

The January 6 hearings have brought to light explosive evidence of Donald Trump's efforts to subvert democracy, as well as the role of far-right extremist groups linked to the former president. In a new book, counterterrorism expert Malcolm Nance investigates this growing threat. Nance is executive director of the Terror Asymmetrics Project, and he joins Michel Martin to talk about far-right ideologies, as well as his own experience fighting in Ukraine.

As I was growing up I was taught by my mother exactly the things that this man is saying. America should belong to ALL the people who inhabit her. Everyone, from Native Americans who's ancestry predates anyone who arrived here, to those who came here on a boat yesterday, should be able to live here in peace. If they came here in peace to promote peace and equality, and they want to stay, and they obey our laws, I call them Americans. I served in the military in order to safeguard their rights. I shudder to think that we might have to take up arms in our own America just to ensure that everyone's rights are respected.

It has been advanced by many who would hold the West principally responsible for Russia's actions: and it is unfiltered hogwash. The moment Russia took Crimea in 2014, it made its intention's known: unless Ukraine served Russia as a vassal state, then it had no rights Russia need respect, neither political, ethnic, nor territorial. Dateline March 2022: Joe Biden calls a White House meeting of teacher's unions, DOE, and FBI officials. The purpose of the meeting was to figure out what to do about the pesky parents showing up at school board meetings and challenging the left-wing agenda. They cook up a scheme to draft a letter, send it to the National School Board, have them send it to the White House as if they had written it, then the DOJ would swing into action. Exactly 24 hours after the fake letter was delivered, Merrick Garland promised federal action against parents exercising their 1st Amendment rights to speak at school board meetings. Garland was fully aware the letter was fake and fabricated, but he engaged federal LEO assets to go after his political enemies. This is malfeasance, abuse of power, and criminal conspiracy. His direct clear no nonsense or mincing words are very empowering. What a dynamo! I have heard him talk abt his wife and her passing from ovarian cancer in 2019 wh is one of the worst. My son's Boy Scout leader, who is a LEO, used to say a lot of things that I realize now were really racist. He used to show Jeff Dunham and Akbar the Dead Terrorist to kids that were 11 and 12 years old. It was about 2005; I was a security guard at a large plant. A truck driver checked in with an eastern European accent and I asked him where he was from, and he said Bosnia. He said he went through the war and was able to settle in America. I asked about the war, and he said it was simple; one day your neighbor insults you and you no longer speak, and then you throw a rock through his window, and he retaliates, after a while of this back and forth you have a war. It is that easy and when one party in the US really wants a civil war it may definitely come.

I was blown away by his discourse and especially his closing remarks. He was erudite, strong, very knowledgeable and intelligent but most of all I liked the ideas that he expressed. I’d be very interested if he has political aspirations. He would be a formidable candidate who would stir up considerable interest and support.
