To the people who are comparing today's Punjabi singers with Chamkila: *There's a reason he did 366 concerts in 365 days *There's a reason he is the best selling Punjabi artist of all time *There's a reason he has been quoted in countless Punjabi songs *There's a reason Karan Aujla, Babbu Mann, Sidhu Moosewala and many other Punjabi singers consider themselves his fan *And there's a reason people are still listening to him today Lets not forget he did all this without the internet, money, and going to Canada. He composed, wrote and performed all his songs by himself. Moreover, people paid money to listen to him, it was not like he used to upload his songs on KZbin which were available to Punjabis worldwide for free!!!

Finally, a Diljit movie on the channel… please do watch his other works like Punjab 1984 and Sajjan Singh Rangroot, too. Also, someone correctly mentioned that Chamkila is meant to be cheekier and the subtitles defo. don’t serve the movie justly at times.

Imitiaz Ali wouldn't ever make a movie on the greatest singer and owner of TSeries Mr Gulshan Kumar and how he was murdered in broad daylight. Because it doesn't suit his agenda, what a hypocrite he is! Nobody knows Amar Singh Chamkila outside Punjab (even the younger generation of Punjab doesn't know of Amar Singh) but everybody knows the great Gulshan Kumar. Wonder what Mr Imitiaz Ali has to say of society (or rather section of society) on the brutal murder of Gulshan Kumar who was such a great artist!!

Movie and acting and struggle of chamkila was great but i don't think we should glorify him as an artist.... when an artist becomes huge he should acknowledge the responsiblity that his art have the power to influence peoples thinking.... and there he failed just like todays artists like honey singh, and film makers like sandeep reddy vanga.... his songs were vulgar ofcourse this doesn't mean he should be killed...
