Why is nobody doing a color comparison with the previous models, that's the most important information, there are enough reviews on youtube already since they're basically identical physically.

I got the 200x s and we record a podcast with the mics a good 9 feet away from the mics but the fan is clearly audible in the recording when no one is speaking. None of the 100x have this issue. Is this normal? If so it will be going back for a refund instead of an exchange.

The new lights look nice, but with Amaran/Aputure's reputation for not providing warranty support you have to consider them as disposables if anything fails during the warranty period. Still may be worthwhile since they are much less expensive than the Aputure lights.

Where are you seeing this bad support reputation? They provide pretty nice support actually. The only hiccup I was aware of was with a supply chain issue of parts but it was all sorted out.

@@ScottBalkum I was provided an RMA number for a warranty replacement. Once I sent them my tracking number, they quit responding to emails. Light was received at their California headquarters, but was not returned, repaired, or replaced. I suspect that influencers may get better service. I still own a 200X which is functioning normally.

very interesting. did not know about the update, everyone thought what kind of firmware is this, S? Please tell me, are the D and X versions of these monoblocks very different in brightness?

The x is about 1/2 as bright as the D.
