I'm so glad you were Jungshook! He deliberately wanted to try different styles to show his versatility. I absolutely love Closer to You and Please Don't Change. They both have such a funky vibe that just makes you move your body. Closer to You is definitely hypnotic and they're both on repeat for me. I also can't understand why Somebody is the least favourite. His vocal is amazing and showcases how different he can sound, it's a great song. My least favourite would be 3D, and yet I loved it. There are just so many good songs on this album. There really aren't many people who can compete with his vocal ability. Run BTS has shown us that he is a great mimic, so no surprise that he is so vocally versatile. Golden is a stunning debut album 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

@AmariLeon Yes, I know all the bands you referenced 😁 And yes, I patronized many alt clubs. And heck yes, I danced my a$$ off with my friends at every single one of them! I'm 54 so, you do the math 😉 So, this song for me has a trance kinda vibe. Like a low vibration Earthly pulse I can't explain. Madonna's "Frozen" comes to mind, sorta. All I know is that "Closer" makes me feel like I fall backwards off Earth into a mass of billowy clouds and just float away on JK's voice 💜

I really love this song. I mean, I genuinely enjoy all of the songs on Golden, for different reasons, but this is a vibe. When you said vampire club I understand what you mean, at least I think I do, a hypnotic sensual trancy beat that you can't help but move to. I still can't decide which I prefer more out of Closer to you, Somebody, and Please Don't Change because they are all so different but so so good, just BOP's. I don't know why they aren't more popular. SNTY is still my #1 though, it's living rent free in my brain 24/7

When JK sang the lyrics "Say it again, Say it again", it threw me straight back to Craig David's "Fill Me In" and "7 Days" and the whole UK Garage scene. I think CD actually sang, "Do it again, Do it again", but JK has the same exact tonation and phrasing, its uncanny. His voice literally morphs which, in turn, morphs me back to different decades and artists. And for that, I am truly and eternally grateful 🙏

I knew you and I had similar taste because of aome of your previous reactions, but this video proved it. You and I are the same team here with Closer To You and Somebody being our top faves. I dont like club music, but I do get all of your references, and this is still my favorite song. I live what gets played on the radio, but I always find that my favorite songs are the ones that will never get air time since they dont follow the "normal rules" of a song. JK's vocals being all breathy, and the way that beat stops every so often, pauses a second or two and then bops right back in.....the vibe of it is amazing. There's no fancy bridge or chorus, there's no crescendo...just a groovy, laid back vibe. I think you and I could share some really cool music with each other. Thank you so much for your reactions! I was certianly eager for this one.

I liked Somebody straightaway from the short preview and then got blown away with JK’s delivery of it in the full song. Closer was a grower for me, after a while it got added into my playlist, very trippy. I have 2 important workday playlists. One to play when walking to work - Standing Next To You, Somebody, Seven (Island Mix) - on repeat. Walking home in the chilly windy dark - Closer, Standing Next To You (Slow Jam Mix), Shot Glass of Tears - to soak in the cool air and wind down. Nothing but JK in both playlists.

Yes, yes, and yes to everything you said. Closer to you was the song I claimed without even knowing the title, when we had only the number of tracks in the album. :D And what a treat I got! My club-nights-with-friends-dark-and-intense-summer-heavy-convos-in-budha-bars nostalgia hit me so hard with this one! I think the songs in JK album are rather feeling tailored. The genres and the production are well used to trigger various emotions. Another interesting thing is he album ability to cross generations.

I feel the same about this song, It's the first thing I hear when I wake up, and it's the last sound I want in my head when I go to sleep. The beat is hypnotic and then JK's voice comes in, and wow. I agree that this feels like being in a trance…a kind of floating. I just love the private intimacy of it. It’s seductively rhythmic, again in a very personal and beckoning way. This is probably my favorite B side. I don’t know how to categorize it as far as genre is concerned, but it does take me to an ephemeral place. Just love it! I wish it were longer. I like that you go into technical details rather than just overreacting and dramatizing. You’re sincere. I feel as though I learn about music when I listen to you. Thank you for that.

Thanks for this, I was wondering if it was an echo or if it was a seperate background sound that sounded like an echo. The beat to me is a Carribean Beat and an African Beat had a baby, so I really wanted to see what you thought, and yeah I know all the bands you just mentioned but I don't think this has anything to do with those bands. And maybe this is why Sombody wasn't anyone's first call as the best B side. I like this too. Funny thing Jungkook said he thought Hate You will be everyone's favorite B side.

Yeah I feel the same! The reactors that I actually watch in my personal time (after I've reacting to something ofc) are those bringing some expertise to the table via a background as a musician, artist, cinematographer, dancer etc. I don't care to see some random bloke scream and wail at a camera for 7 minutes while not even being able to hear what they're watching, then walk off lol but alas those channels are HUGE & many people often tell me I should behave more like that so clearly those channels appeal to SOMEONE lol
