Nailed the ornamentation. I've been studying singing for 20 years and some of these comments are out to lunch. Anyway I suspect music of this period would have been sung more idiosyncratically than some of these commenters know.

Very nice voice!!!!!!! This song is done very well!! One little thing is that you scoop into the note when you have a D starting the word, but other than that it is great!!!! You have very nice breath support also!

You really have a beautiful voice! Sometimes you really sound a bit flat, one can hear this when you sing your first note, but I think that's nothing big or too bad you couldn't correct easily. I really love your version, it beautiful!

Your tone is exquisite...most singers can't achieve you, you naturally have it. Girrl work it!! I will say, sometimes your vowels sound a little spread, just make sure they're tall (I'm sure you've heard this 492743892473892 times from your teachers) and to keep the air moving. I can hear the tone kinda pinched a little bit when you run out of air. Just keep it open cause you have a wonderful voice when its blossomed. keep singing girrl! You're great!

This range in general should be easy for both mezzos and sopranos. It's very much in the "normal" or "average" range. It's not too high nor too low. so it should be easy for both.

What makes it very enchanting for me is that your voice sounds very natural through the whole piece - a high ideal at Caccini's time. If you would apply a bit rubato/agogics (they called it just "affetti" back then) and even some "fermate", your version would gain more personality. Presumably the outcome would be just overwhelming. And - I have to say it - watch your distance from the microphone. BTW you might like my composition "Du bist mein Land/You are My Land". Now - haha - I really see how old this recording is (I didnt look on the date of uploading when I began to write my response), you might be a perfectly accomplished singer today, and I hope you didn't loose the naturality of your beautiful voice! Best wishes!

I think you sound absolutely wonderful. It reminds me of Kathleen Battle. I guess as you keep progressing you will get better at initiating the D. My onset of the high notes are not perfect either. But for this song you're good enough. Good luck to your singing.

You have a beautiful voice, which is going to ripe more under a good coaching and technique instruction. I wouldn't "darken" your sound as E Harris's comment suggested , because one should stick to his own assets and true nature. Why "darken" a bright beautiful voice? I would however, suggest you will treat this particular aria more freely with its tempo. Don't be afraid to 'break' the formality. Wishing you all the best and success.
@NicoleMinielli13 жыл бұрын
Your voice is truly beautiful. I only have one complaint: you have a tendency to go flat. I think that elevating the voice would really help you produce an even more amazing sound .

Would recommend bringing your voice more through the mask. I won't call you "nasally", but you would benefit from bringing your tone forward. I sang this in high school for state.

this was very well done. however you seemed a little breathy, so support your breathing a bit more, and your trills were fantastic, need some work on your italian, but that comes in time, and you did scoop in a few parts, which makes the song more "poppy" as i say, which isn't needed so work on that. i'd give this around a B, it was fantastic, keep working! =]
@orlando09814 жыл бұрын
@supwitchyou I think she sounds nice, and while I see what you are getting at I don't think you can get far without a good teacher. Just trying to press down your larynx etc. on your own isn't likely to help, and I'm dubious about "sending the air through the nose" - maybe a little bit, but too much and it would not be good, I don't think. I agree though ideally this singer might benefit from a bit more weight and support in the sound.

Work a little on making your words not so bright. This is a haunting song full of heartbreak. Your voice does convey but I wish you would darken your sound and add emphasis to some of your words with dynamic changes and slight breaks. On the three dramatic Amarilli's: crescendo a little more each time. Taking a slight pause after the last dramatic, ringing AMARILLI, take a bit of a pause, before moving into "eil mio amore....." Otherwise: Great work! I enjoyed your rendition.

the first "amarilli" and "des" you are sliding up to the note and doing something funny, practice pitch exercises, i recommend getting a voice teacher to help with ur technique, the "mio" and "cre" sound spread sing it taller, practice your vowels its sounding too much like a pop song, some parts you are singing funny notes
