Sir pls solve this question I face problem..Q : A alone can complete a work in 16 days and B alone in 12 days. Starting with A , they work on alternate days.. the total will be completed in how many days????

take LCM of 16,12 :48 days .. assume total work units as 48 units to be completed ..so ,A can do 48/16 = 3units/day ,B can finish 48/12 =4 units of work per day ...if they work together t hey can finish 4+3 = 7 units per day of work .for together working they can finish in 48/7 = 6.85 days ..however they work on alternate days so .. on 1st day A alone will do 3 units ..on 2nd dayB will do 4 units ..on 3rd Day 3 units on 4th day 4 units ..like this we sum up till 48 days is reached ..or we can observe a pattern 3+4+3+4+3+4+3+4+3+4+3+4+3+4 on counting we see that 13.85 days is Ans.
