Hey Benjamin. Can you please post an entire video that speaks more about your Guan Sheng Telescope? Can you do a review and tell us how good your GSO is? It's very necessary for those who want to buy a GSO. As it is, there are very less reviews of this telescope and almost next to none, about its much intricate details. You know, if you could not just give a review, but also speak more about the little things that sets this one apart from the more popular counterparts? I will be picking up a 10" very soon and I'm looking everywhere for a good review of the GSO.

Thank you very much for the video. I have a new 8 dob and I'm having a big issue with the focuser. As you say, it's very sensitive and the eyepiece/housing continues to just fall/collapse NO MATTER THE TENSION. Any advice how to fix it? It's like it's stripped of grip/unable to hold an ounce of weight or be tightened where it's not adjustable. All of nothing. Very frustrating. Any help appreciated!!

Hey Landon. I just got one today and I’m having the same issue! Did you ever find a fix for that?
@landonkirk79144 жыл бұрын
@@kevinortiz8318 yes. I tightened the screw underneath the scope and it did the trick.

10" GSO Dobsonian Mount. Yeah, it was good quality and relatively inexpensive.

How much did it cost? I want for christmas, im 16 and i have a telescope, but im looking for a bigger one, i have a telescope with lenses.

Hi. Well, I bought mine in New Zealand so it was a bit expensive...around $900 NZD with the eyepieces that came with it. I think that is around $750-$800 USD. You can probably get a 10" scope a lot cheaper if you are somewhere more accessible than New Zealand. Good luck!

I have a Bushmaster Mars 900mm reflector. If I am not mistaken I believe the aperture is 114mm. I have a 6.5mm eyepiece and was thinking to use a short 2x Barlow lens along with it (the Barlow came with my refractor) to see the moon and planets in greater detail. I think that comes to about 250x magnification? Im hoping to see the moon really detailed. Will I be able to see the bands on Jupiter as well as the planets more enlarged? I have a small 60x700mm refractor but it can only take 6.5mm. Yet Mars is really small. I tried using the Barlow with the 6.5mm but it just couldn't focus (obviously).

I ment 230x not 250x.

what was that fan on the back
@benjaminpoole93837 жыл бұрын
It is a cooling fan to cool the mirror. If you've brought the telescope from inside where it is warm, you can turn it on to help the mirror equilibrate with the temperature outside. This makes for clearer viewing (I'd have to research to find out why this is true, but it is!).

Late reply but essentially when a warm object is placed in the cold it likes to shed its heat. It does this primarily through the air. This creates a warm bubble of air above your primary mirror. This bubble will affect how well you can see light as you are adding atmosphere. In order to get rid of this extra air, you need to let the scope mirrors cool ambient. A fan on the back helps to push out the warm air and can almost half the time it takes to reach ambient
