key thing missed, minors can not give consent, even if they agree and want the act

Thanks for your comment! That's correct, the age at which someone can consent to sex varies from state to state, but no one who is under 16 can legally consent to sex in any state.

Keep in mind: SEXUAL ASSAULT/RAPE HAPPENS TO ALL GENDERS. Even though the percentage of women/girls getting sexually assaulted/raped is higher than men/boys, that’s not an excuse to ignore the sexual assault/rape of men/boys.

I recently realised I was sexually assaulted when I was younger, I always thought it wasn’t a big deal because he was also a child at the time and my parents and school told me at the time that what he was doing was normal even though he molested me and it made me extremely uncomfortable and scared. This happened to me multiple times across the period of a few months I still victim blame myself for this sometimes as well because of how I was taught by the adults around me not to worry about it. I sometimes feel that I shouldn’t be affected by this as well

When I was 10, I was sexually assaulted. It was horrible, I felt trapped, as if I couldn't reach out to anyone, but I did reach out to the teacher. But she didn't do anything. That made it worse, I eventually got depressed, and couldn't live with what had happened to me. That's why I'm writing this, to help kids who may be going through the same thing, I just want you to know your never alone and there's people who you can talk to and understand you, if you still don't feel confident I recommend kids helpline. @@amazeorg I have a question actually...can a girl abuse another girl? There was a girl in my school and tuition too she used to touch me very much inappropriately and used to look at me in such a way i dont know i always felt helpless under her...I am physically very much stronger than her but her one look made me mentally weak. And she used to invade my private space too much and almost all times trapped me between walls and herself...it was very suffocating...she stays with an innocent face on her and didnt let me confront her anyway...she touched me on my private parts more than a few times and forcibly took my tee down once...i feel horrible. These went for 2 years for six days a week. She had the audacity to even threaten my close friends to stay away from me so that she can take advantage of my loneliness nd i was a fool to fall for her trap. This happened to me when I was around 8-9 (by my sister who was 3 years older than me) and I had to live about 12 years with her and just started remembering all the bad memories recently. I got mad at her one day and it came out, which obviously caused a whole situation. In the end one of my other siblings justified her actions by saying that she “didn’t get her period yet” or “didn’t know what she was doing” and I feel stupid for saying anything…

That’s what happened with me if someone touches my leg, neck, or anywhere other then my genitals/butt I wont care a lot unless they deliberately repeat. That’s because if they repeat it really means they mean what they’re doing.

Before my experience with my ex , I went to visit a male friend who did the same, although he asked me for forgiveness, luckily for me he quickly snapped out of it he didn't rape me , thank God. Fast forward again, I was dating this guy about few weeks ago, I told him I wanted abstinence since we might be getting married,to cut the story short, he also sexually assaulted me, I wasn't raped, he doesn't even feel sorry after agreeing to abstinence and yet broke my trust. I can't get over these experience, is been 3weeks since this last one happened, but now i feel ashamed, dirty, I can't get over all these experiences, I'm suffering. When I was 8 or 9 my “friend” we were the same age. She said we were playing a game and made me take my pants down and started touching me and put her finger inside of me and she made me so the same thing to her as well. I blocked it out for 10 years but a few after she did that I still wanted to be her friend but one time I saw her with her friends and she was bullying me and her friends was laughing At me. Even after I still want to be her friend I was friends with her for 3 years and she would break my stuff and steal it. When I was 13 I was sexually abused by a boy the same age as me at the school desk I was supposed to help him with math and then I felt his hand on my legs and he rub me and touched me everywhere I got up and went in front of the teachers desk I wanted to tell her what happened but I didn’t so I grab a pen and sat back down next to him and he started to touch me again. When i got home I acted like I was fine. The next day mum woke me up for school I was scared so I told her. The police didn’t get involved cause me and him had autism and there was any cameras so he didn’t get in trouble only a person watched him for a week. He lied and said he he only touched my leg. The teachers said it was just puberty. The only thing that made me feel better was my blade to cut myself with. I’m 20 now and I’m still struggling with all these memories.

Hi, there; thank you so much for your question! And thank you for your bravery; it can be really tough when old memories come back to us, especially when unexpected. Even if it's something that happened when you were younger it can still qualify as sexual assault if it meets the criteria we named. It might be a little too late to pursue any legal action for the situation; however, if it's still causing you emotional challenges, you might want to consider talking to a therapist or counselor about it. In the meantime, hope this helps. Good luck to you! ❤️

That just reminded me of something that happened at my school not too long ago: A sixth grader in our school was a victim of sexual assault. The perpetrator was my former science teacher from 6-7th grade (i'm about to graduate middle school). Luckily, I was not a victim. Word got around that this went on for a year, which was why our science teacher was acting *REAL* sus lately. Long story short, he got arrested and is charged for second degree assault.

I was sexually assaulted about 4 days ago by a man whom I trusted and saw a paternal figure. The night of the assault he tried to get me drunk along with my mom eventually I noticed him putting too much wine on my drink and I stopped. I didn’t think much of it because that’s how much I trusted him after my mom left for the bathroom he sat close to me like he always did and hugged me. Every time he hugged me he would always stroke my arm I thought it was normal as I thought it was a way to express his daughterly love towards me. As I was hugging him he forcefully kissed me out of the blue with out my consent and once again I was completely confused and drunk as well. After that he injected a dose of vitamin A and B it was the weekly thing since his a doctor. About an hour later I got up with a lot of itchiness all over my body I tried to wake up my mom and even shook her really hard and she still wouldn’t get up. I stared at myself in the mirror for a little bit because my face was red too I had no option but to go wake him up so that he could see what was wrong with me. His door was open so I just knocked and apologized for the sudden disruption. I told him about the red spots all over my body and showed him but he didn’t even acknowledge it or care. He told me to “come here and give him a hug” I guess from my state of vulnerability, weakness and deep trust I had in him I went ahead and laid down beside him thinking it was just going to be something short. As I laid there he kept caressing my arm like he always did but after a while he started fondling my back and my waist then my leg after that my inner thigh and my private part. I was completely in shock and paralyzed I had to remove his hand about three times because he wouldn’t stop. After that he started touching my breast and then that’s when I prayed in my head to my God Jehovah and asked him for courage to remove myself from the situation. I told him I need to go to the bathroom repeatedly and he still wouldn’t let go until he put his entire body pressure on me and stuck his tongue inside my mouth. My heart was beating really fast and I was at a completely survival mode. After saying “I need to go to the bathroom” for the 5th time he finally let go of me. Thinking now if my mom wasn’t sleeping in the next room and I was alone with him this man would’ve have raped me and completely crushed my soul and all the emotional progress I had made. He was part of helping me gain my self esteem and confidence again and completely betrayed me and crushed the little hope I had left. After that incident I went outside in the dark and sobbed beside a red shed like I’ve never cried in my entire life. The next day was incredibly painful because I had gotten a horrible skin allergy and I was throwing up out of absolute disgust. I told my mom but she did not believe me she told me I imagined it from past sexual abuse I had endured as a child. I did not imagine that horrifying event I’m at a place where I want to move and just heal from this horrible experience because I cannot let this man completely destroy me. He didn’t rape me but it didn’t have to get to that level. The worst part is that my mom forced me to confront him and he even said it was a miss interpretation. My body was in absolute panic that night so I was in absolute disbelief that my own mother would defend him over me. I have only told one person because she told me not to say anything due to the compromises he has with this man. I don’t think my life will ever be the same after that incident but I genuinely hope I can move on and heal. One thing I can say that no matter how friendly how great or life advice a person has or anything of that sort. Do not overly trust that person because you never know. I whole heartedly believed this person was a wholesome man trying to help my mom and I out from the horrific divorce we endured. All he wanted was to control and take advantage for his own desire towards me. I just thank Jehovah god that he did not rape me. Even so I am not less of the pain he inflicted on me. Neither are you from whom ever sexually assaulted you or raped you. You are more every single day and worth a lot. Remember that God always takes something that is broke and makes it into something beautiful. Don’t let the monster that tried to destroy you define you as a person. Be a warrior because that’s what you are.

In 9th grade, me and three other people, were playing around and my friend said something to me (wasn’t anything sexual I don’t think.) and then started to groped my genitals. I wasn’t comfortable with her doing it. I tried pushing her back but that didn’t stop her from doing it and after that I just gave up for some reason. After that, she went back to fooling around the other two. She only groped me for a few seconds and that was it. I didn’t really wanted her to do it and I was uncomfortable when she did it. I may sound stupid when I say this but I didn’t thought of it as being a sexual assault at the time. I was sexually assaulted last year by one of my best friends... I was only 8. Now I plan on telling my friend’s mom about it and talk it out. If my parents don’t agree to that then I don’t know what to do. I talked to the principal of our school last month and we talked it out. My assaulter walked in and said she was simply “trying to get my phone” to call home when she obviously WASNT. She called it a joke at first then she said she was trying to get my phone. There is a difference between rape and sexual assault, although rape is sometimes referred to as sexual assault. Rape is non-consensual sex. Sexual assault is not limited to non-consensual sex, and can also include inappropriate touching, unwarranted kissing, and sexual harassment.

Yikes. I remember one time I was on visitation with my Dad. I was 12 at the time. (a couple years ago) My Grandfather's girlfriend was sitting in the car with me alone at the time. My Dad and Grandfather were getting something in the house. Anyway, she slowly touched my inner thighs and touching my hair and nails. She kept on asking me to talk to her and use my phone. I just ignored her. Pretty soon I got tired of her doing that to me, so I got out of the car and called the police. They came very quick and then took me back home. I felt so dirty. We had to deal with court and everything. Thank God I don't have to see my Dad anymore. The whole visitation thing was messed up.

TW- is it sexual assault if you normally kiss someone, and at a party they pick you up and throw you on the bed, you try and distract them and tell them that you should both go back to the party. and they continue to kiss you and ask you to scratch their back . so you say: if I do will you leave me alone, they say yes. so you do and then they keep going and they're rubbing up against you you can't move. Then you scratch them hard- they scream. Start punching walls and cupboards and yell at you to leave

Lara, I'm sorry to hear this. Do you have an adult you trust that you can speak to for guidance? This sounds like a scary situation. Just know, that this wasn't your fault. Sexual assault never is the victim's fault. I know you shared that you've kissed before, but consenting before doesn't make everything moment after that allowable. It is important to remember that sexual assault is never the fault of the person being assaulted or abused, even if the person doing the assaulting or touching says it’s the young person’s fault. What a person was wearing or if they had been using drugs or alcohol does not make sexual assault the fault of the person who is assaulted. Sexual assault, regardless of the situation, is never okay. Sometimes a person may feel like sexual assault is their fault because the touching felt good, but sexual assault is never the young person’s fault.

@amazeorg 4 жыл бұрын
Hi! Thank you for reaching out to AMAZE! Sexual assault is a legal term and one that varies state to state, particularly when both parties are minors. However, it sounds like the experience still causes you some distress no matter the legal definition. If that's the case, it may be helpful to talk through your experience with somebody like a school counselor or therapist. Consider talking to an adult you trust about getting support in processing that experience, they may be better able to answer questions and help you decide how best to move forward (both emotionally and legally if that's what you want).

Great question--shouts out to you for paying attention to your intuition! Sexual assault is typically defined as an experience where someone is doing something sexual and they don't have your consent to do it. Typically speaking, putting an arm around someone and giving them a smile isn't automatically sexual, so there's not much to worry about there. However, if you felt uncomfortable, it's perfectly okay to keep your distance in the future! Even if your teacher wasn't sexually assaulting you, it doesn't mean you have to allow him to touch you at all if it makes you feel uncomfortable, and the same goes for your sister! Hope this helps clarify things. 🙂

Great question! Sometimes we may feel like someone has violated us in a way that wasn't intentional, or someone who has violated us will tell us that what they did was unintentional. Even if that is the case, their behavior can still count as assault if it affected us in a way that was painful or traumatic. Question. Is kissing someone without consent considered sa? My friend asked if she could kiss me and I said no but she forced me to do it anyway 3 times.

hey can someone hear me out? so I remember when I was like 7 or 8, one time my mom and I went to my uncle's house and my mom had to go out to buy something quick so she left me there. so I was just sitting on the bed playing with my uncle's granddaughter until my uncle came in the room and sat on the bed. he forcefully put me in his lap, and put his hand under my dress and started touching my stomach weirdly. I remember it making me uncomfortable then and even when I think about it now, it still makes me uncomfortable for some reason. I'm not sure what happened back then and since he touched me on my stomach area I'm not sure if it's sexual assault but please tell me if you know. sorry for the bad English!

What about if your parent or caregiver playfully hits your butt, but you can't identify whether it's sexual assault or not because it seems playful?

Hi Soul, thank you for your question! Any kind of sexual behaviors or touching another person’s breasts, genitals or buttocks without that person’s permission (also known as consent) is sexual assault. Have you talked to the caregiver about how it makes you uncomfortable? Can you ask them to stop? If not, we suggest you talk to an adult that you trust to get you the help you deserve.

@@amazeorg thanks for your reply. I have talked to that care giver about it, but he always seems to forget. But I'll be sure to talk about it with my mom.

Any kind of sexual behaviors or touching without that person’s permission (also known as consent) is sexual assault. If this has happened to you, just know that it is not your fault. We encourage you to speak to someone you trust. If you feel it'd be better to speak to someone in total confidence, you can visit RAINN.org. They have resources and volunteers that can help.

Would it be sexual assault or harassment if my grandma slaps my butt and isn’t trying to be sexual with me but it still makes me feel uncomfortable?
