Amazfit Heart Rate... (Falcon smartwatch review 123 days later)

Great Review. I notice that the Falcon, Trex 2 and GTR 3 has the same hearth sensor and all of the are not accurate. The GTR 4 has the latest sensor from Amazfit and seems more accurate than the previous heart rate sensor as I compare it with my Apple Watch. It’s discouraging that Amazfit is making these great looking watch and the heart rate is not accurate.😢

@@PeterHerget I have seen that the GTR 4 has been more in par a few beats +/- 2 from my Apple Watch 7 . On my GTR 3 pro I use to see lo readings and slowly go up sometimes over shooting and really taking time to lower my heart rate. I talked with Amazfit and they were indicating that I have to wear my watch higher on my wrists and tighten. When I saw that the Falcon had the same heart rate sensor of the GTR 3 pro I questioned my self why Amazfit will launch a new watch with and old heart rate sensor. As you know the GTR 4 was launched previously from the Falcon.

A wonderful comment and sorry if I am just now responding one year later. Interesting about the heart rate. I believe the new sensor that Amazfit installed on their T-Rex 3 is much improved. I should do a comparison between the T-Rex 3 and the Falcon... what do you think?

Great Video, thanks. I have ordered the falcon and I liked it pretty much in terms of design...what I didn't like was the accuracy. I have returned it back and waiting for my Epix 2 Sapphire to be delivered...I am very excited about it :)

I hope Amazfit figured it out. Their watch’s look amazing. But imo Garmin is the best. In my experience. I wanted to ask if you thought about the Polar Ignite 3 to review?

I wish my Instinct 1 had a health snapshot….I still like the look of the Falcon, but it’s accuracy is too wonky. Let’s face it; Garmin is king (and the king is too rich for my wallet). Thanks for all your legwork, Peter.

How many months as it lived on your wrist and it is your first trip around the block with Amazfit? Have you tried the Garmin vivomove or a vivoactive series timepiece?

@@PeterHerget I've been using Amazfit for about 2 years now. I actually left Fitbit for them. I started with the bip then moved to the GTS 2 and 3. I have had the GTR 4 since the day it was released as I pre-ordered it. Amazfit even replaced the 1st one free because it wouldn't read anything. They do have great customer service! I have never tried any Garmin products except a car GPS. I really appreciate your videos and replies to my questions.

And what happens if you put the Falcon on your left and the Garmin on your right? Why you take for granted that the Garmin or the others are the ones correct. The only thing that could be a more believable answer is if you compared the watches HR monitoring with an official medical device.

When I compare the heart rate data from a Polar H10 chest strap, yeah, any watch on my wrist is a little off. I will look into acquiring a medical grade heart ❤️ rate monitor for some fun, accurate, and quasi scientific research...

There aren't many reviewers who really test gps watches over a long period of time, so thanks for that. Has any firmware updates improved gps accuracy. HR monitoring isn't an issue for me, as I prefer to wear a Polar chest strap.

Thanks! Yeah, I bought this Amazfit Falcon with my own $500.00 USD money; ergo, I decided to keep it for a nine-month review period and it has been a fun wearable to test. As for the accuracy, yes, it is slightly more consistent than four months ago.

Very good review. I am running and at the beginning I also only used the watch to measure my heart rate. But then I realized that if I want to get the right heart rate, I have to use a chest belt. Unfortunately, not a single watch shows a completely correct heart rate. At the moment I'm waiting for my Amazfit Falcon because it just looks great and I don't care what heart rate the watch shows because I use the chest strap anyway.

Thank you 🙏 and glad you liked my review video. At the end of the day, yep, many so called “smartwatches” , a fitness tracker, or even a smart ring, they all have errors every 24 hours. Even my beloved Apple Watch sometimes gives me a heart-rate reading too high/low. For me, it is the overall consistency of the data and if it is consistent with the measurements. During my workouts I do need to know within a five-beat accuracy, or at least 10 heart beats how much I am pushing my body through the swim, bike, run, pickleball match, or even while lifting weights. I do think the Amazfit Falcon is slightly more consistent and I also enjoy wearing it for the design. I hope your like your Falcon smartwatch 🤞

Hello, great content I have a GTR4 and the watch have been great it looks that the heart rate its accurate enough but anyways you can connect a chest strap, but there are two big bugs that I have find, the track run mode gives me an incorrect track orientation so its unusable, GPS works great actually very very close to a Garming or coros UNLESS you paused the activity after you paused for some times it starts again the gps gets kind of offset and corrects overtime. That is soo sad this watch its great but the software needs refiment for sure.

I would agree. However, the heart rate sensor that was installed inside the Amazfit Falcon was an improvement.

I succeeded, it doesn't want to create an account with yahoo mail, it wants with gmail, then it updates itself for 1 hour, on the phone the application is in Romanian and on the watch in English

That sounds quite strange. I only installed the English and Italian on my Amazfit watches. I have not heard anything about the Yahoo account.

You need to learn how to edit videos. It's really not hard. It beats having to watch you walk across the room when you start, to and looking up your nose while you adjust the camera angle. It's just more professional. I couldn't watch for more than a minute, so I missed all your wonderful observations and comments.

They all jump around looks like to me. I have a Garmin 6 sapphire but just couldn't justify Garmin's price this time. Gonna give the Falcon a go and see if later updates corrects some of the issues.
