Happy New Year! I want to thank all of you for supporting the farm channel through watching, commenting and sharing in 2024. It has been quite the journey and the channel has grown a bit faster than I had expected. I'm really looking forward to kicking off the 2025 farming season in just a few weeks with the starting of our first greenhouse tomato seeding, so consider subscribing if you haven't already so you don't miss any of our farm fresh content this year! I'll probably only be releasing one video per week for the next few weeks but once we get our greenhouses up and running again in February and March I'll do my best to put out three per week to keep you all up to date on everything happening on our farm. I still have several special video projects that I'm currently working on and can't wait to share them! Thanks again for helping make this channel a success and looking forward to the 2025 season!

man,it's such a nostalgy to see warm weather and green trees and plants right in the middle of winter doldrums. And late May greenhouse #2 looking absolutely fabulous,so lush and fresh,and disease-free ! Simply outstanding.

Totally agree! It was so fun putting this one together and seeing all the crops growing…it’s almost hard to believe it looked that way just several months ago now that there’s snow everywhere.

Jason, you are a growing machine. Took me a couple of days to watch this as I had to squeeze it in between being called away a few times. Really appreciate the sharing of your processes of your annual journey. The bean harvester was interesting and the washing as well. Please keep sharing and educating us through your efforts. 2025 will be better than ever.

We lay out tomato plant almost flat and uses stakes to keep the top part off the ground . Sometimes lay straw under the plant that is leaning not close to root bound plant .

Hi Jason. Your drone footage is great. It puts into perspective how much you cultivate. You have most likely got more space to grow. I really liked the coloured cauliflowers but what am I saying, all your crops were great. What an operaton. Heres looking forward to 2025. Elaine 🇬🇧

What a good overview of the year! Do you make your own compost using what’s left over in the field (what’s left from the vegetable plants, leaves, stems, etc.)? Do you preserve (can, freeze dry) the not-so-great looking vegetables for your own home?
@wishwellfarms9 күн бұрын
Thanks I appreciate you watching and commenting, hopefully 2025 is as good or better! We don’t save anything leftover in the field. It is all plowed in, if there happens to be any diseased leaf tissue, we don’t want that to be hanging around. My wife does freeze and can a little bit, but not much anymore. We have a commercial kitchen on our farm And we make a couple thousand jars of pepper relish each year and 500 gallons of maple syrup and thousands of containers of salsa all sold through our markets.

Totally awesome season, can i ask how many acres of corn you planted and how many acres overall to you plant for your produce?
@wishwellfarms17 күн бұрын
Thanks! We planted 25 acres of sweet corn this year and total veggie acres was about 60.
@Dwade68917 күн бұрын
@@wishwellfarms Wow, all that from 60 acres, just incredible. Best of luck for next season.

Appreciate the recap. Always forget how much manual labor it takes. Any benefit to expand upon the hydroponic greenhouses? Pros/Cons? Happy New Year!
@wishwellfarms16 күн бұрын
No desire or need to expand our hydroponics...the labor, fuel, plastic and management is out of this world high compared to growing field crops...14,000 sq/ft and 3,000 tomato plants is plenty for me. Thanks!

When do you transplant out in the field for some fall cauliflower and broccoli?
@wishwellfarms16 күн бұрын
We shoot for the first week of July for cauliflower and first week of August for broccoli

I’m curious on what 4th generation farmers think about the food in America now days. Debunk fake foods or confirm our bulk food supply has been compromised. Love your videos. Bummed I didn’t know you were in Marquette in sept 2024. I live near there that was around my birthday too. Would have dropped some lures off we make them left so we didn’t bug you 😂

Hey what variety tomato are you harvesting in the video?

Summerpick, Skyway 687, Rambler, Roadster, STM2255. This year trying some Red Snaper and a new one called Windup. Also trying some Red Deuce in the greenhouse again for the first time in 10 years.

Great recap. For your food bank donation, do you take a tax deduction by on it. If so, is on the retail or wholesale value? We are also donating excess but haven’t taking deduction. Thinking about it. Thanks
@wishwellfarms14 күн бұрын
We receive a payment for the bean delivery, it's just a reduced payment though so it's still reported as income on our schedule F, profit and loss from farming...no deduction.

Great video. How important is isolation on different sweetcorn ( kickoff signaturexr xanadu)
@wishwellfarms16 күн бұрын
Very important, they have to be isolated from SE and Triple Sweet/Synergistics or you will get tough starchy kernels...at least 500 feet away but I personally would make it twice that. Thanks Mike!
