Awesome! Nice drive. One of our usual pit stops is at that spot around KM20 where we can take panoramic shots of Binga Dam down below. Nowadays, you'll notice a lot of mt. bikes going up/down. Many mt. bikers from all over join the mt. bike races along this road. They start from Adunot bridge, go up and their finish line is at this popular mt. bike coffee shop hangout around KM15 or so. There is a spot, around 3kms before the notorious landslide stretch, before the Binga dam intersection, where you can get beautiful shots of the road snaking down to Adunot bridge. Your drive thru the "ole Ambuklao village" is nostalgic. Most noobs take the bridge and new route going up. They do a foto shoot at the new Ambuklao dam viewpoint. ( I heard it's overflowing now with restos, stores.) Sometimes we get lucky and get vids of cascading waterfall when Ambuklao releases its overflow. Usually, most tourists just move over the dam and the stairs going down to the boats. But, they should go to the end of the dam and take more panoramic views. From there ,we went on a few meters up the road to Halsema and got fantastic vids of the dam. I guess by now the road going up to Halsema/La Trinidad, via Labayen, Prolig Berry farm is nice and cemented. That would be a good loop going back to Baguio. btw, before the incoming commercial restos, stores ruin the views from the apex of that road going up and down to Bokod, around 4 kms going up from the dam, take vids/pix of the fantastic pine tree framed shots of the dam below. Some time ago, on a motorcycle trip, we chanced upon lovely views of the tilapia fish pens below. But the "tourists" are coming. So, enjoy the wonderful views before they ruin it. ( Sagada now is "sagad na" from "tourism". Soon, Tabayo Lake in Ballay, Kabayan, Mt. Tabayoc will go the Sagad-na way.) Anyway, thanks for the memories. Thanks for the ride. Stay safe and enjoy your adventures. Hanggang sa muli.

Talk about a trip down memory lane, at 8:07 there is a curb cut on the right that leads to a house we lived in in 1969. I used to jump on a water truck and ride it down to the golf course to play golf( I was eleven) There was nothing between the round about at the golf course and our house. On the high side of the road an industrialist owned the entire hill top and had a mansion surrounded by rock wall with broken glass in the top of it and guards always on patrol with fully automatic machine guns which would wake us up on occasion. Dr. Manalo lived on the high side of the road (the only other house on the road) He had just built our house to live in when my dad talked him into leasing it to us for one year. The house is still there and I found it on google maps. I used to hike all over the forest, even though they told me not to, as the indigenous natives where also out there and on occasion I would see a few walking through the forest in single file with a short spear and loin cloth and small shield. I kept my distance. I know they saw me but I guess they didnt like (the other) white meat. We moved to Baguio from Alaska , we could not deal with the heat and humidity in Manila or down at Subic Bay or Clark airforce base. Culture shock, yes but loved every minute of it. There was a hot springs pool at Ambuklao dam we used to go to. A Jeepney would pick my sisters and I up at the road and take us into the mountains somewhere to a parochial school (first time for us too) My older sister and brother would ride their Honda 90's down to town and went to the american university in town somewhere. The big park with the lake in the center of it was a favorite place for us to go. The golf course was a very busy R&R club for the american military to go to to get away form the heat of Subic and Clark. Just FYI, Ambuklao dam was built by Morrison Knudson of Boise Idaho which by coincidence I have lived for 35 years. Anyway, as the saying goes " Thanks for the memories" . R/K

I remember driving through Ambuklao at around 7:00 am in a foggy day of September. We had our windows down and jus t breathed the breeze. Just thinking about the scenery now makes my heart flutter. Then we stopped by at Ambuklao dam. I miss this road. I got to go through Ambuklao to Tabuk road twice, at Sunrise and Sunset. I swear the beauty just freshens you.
