Hi my name is John I'm building a router table 26' x 10' with a 2.5' over hang that runs the lenght of the table for turning long stock. I'm building a machine with an articulating spindal . I was reading the Mach3 manual and it says "if the machanism is like a robot arm or a hexapod, then Mach3 "will not" be able to control it because of the kinematic calculations that would be needed to relate the "tool"position in X,Y and Z coordinates to the lenght and rotation of the arms " is there a program that would solve this for me?

@@ErostheEpic My fadal runs decently but it can't interpolate circles well. Usually within .002" round. After I bought the Akira, the Fadal just runs mild and stainless for me. Has a 10,000RPM spindle but the belts and motor sound like hell above 8,000 or so. Plus the spindle chiller leaks so it doesn't make sense to run up there all the time anyways. Drained the spindle chiller fluid and don't run it anymore. I bought it 5 years ago for $6,500. It's probably worth a little more since fadal came back and it was a steal then but I've replaced the vector drive, the spindle, and the air/hydraulic belt actuators. Oh and the LCD screen which luckily has a VGA port in the pendant cabinet so a $60 computer monitor took its place. The guy I bought it from had left a tool in it for almost 2 years so it blew up 4-5 of the belleville washers in it the first time I used a face mill. But it's the small block chevy of CNC mills. Super easy to work on and parts are relatively cheap.

DJ DarkMatter those machine aren't hard to use, the interface is pretty cool. Learning actual G-code is a little bit harder, but it also depends on if you know any fabrication techniques

You gotta know alot just to be a machinist. Takes years of getting yelled at. Then learning the machine is just like getting a new smartphone. Practice and reading the manual. Doesn't look like he makes anything hard and is spoiled using nice machines. I'd guess that guy has less than 5 years experience just by how he talked about the shrink fit
