It’s interesting to watch how you catch halibut differently in San Francisco than we do in Alaska. In Alaska we fishing 100ft to like around 200ft or more of water and we jig instead of trolling

You guys have a different species of halibut up there. They have very different ecology.

Since the weight comes first, I always feel I'm going to bonk the Halibut when bouncing the bottom before he has a chance to see the bait ? Don't know if that really happens.

Ewe should use elasticated thread to wrap the bait ,keeps it on the hook rig 🐟😎

The 8" dodgers work much better then a hoochie with a double treble hook with a bait. I commercial fish halibut in so cal and we do very well with that setup.
@ChrisPfish29 ай бұрын
i agree it works very well. I did a video last summer doing that in Monterey Bay. But does it work better in San Francisco Bay were there are no squid. I will put it to the test soon. hard to argue with the results in this video though. Thanks for watching

Hey brother long time subscriber here, love your content. Question, how long is the line for your weight and how long is the leader line. I'm going out for halibut Saturday morning.
@ChrisPfish29 ай бұрын
weight about 12 inches. back to bait go as long as your comfortable with. so 4-8ft. but go as long as you can. Too long makes it hard to net fish. Thanks for watching
