I agree with this 100%.I am an African American 14 year old who does not know his own individual ethnic origin, but I love my African roots in general.Arts, dancing, and creativity all does come from Africa, which I now just realized. I've never been so proud of my roots. When I get older,I might go to Africa and visit my brothers and sisters :)

Authentic, natural, powerful and hypnotic dance that is unique to Africa. How can one resist the sound of the drums and not to dance. As @ cola cage pointed out:It's there inside you. Listen to african drums and just move your body.... you'll find your rhythm. Bravo!!!

It's beautiful how African dance still influences folkloric dance today. In Puerto Rico, there's a genre called 'Bomba' that literally derived from African Slaves. They created Bomba as a means of an escape from working for the white man. One move in this vid @ 0:40 is a common move done especially when dancing the 'Holandes" version of the Bomba. The choreographing is amazing as well as strikingly similar to Puerto Rican-African culture as well as every Latin country in the Western Hemisphere. Bravo.

waterhands20 It gives me great pride to see how 'Bomba' have been kept and almost untouched as how our African ancestors used to dance. Now days is used in protest, Christmas festivities, traditional festivals and everything in between. We also celebrate the drums and do festivals dedicated to it. Our culture is rich and not many people get to see this side of us. Cuba also has their take of 'Bomba" but I think it has a different name.

Love this dance. It's a traditional choreo (can't remember the name right now) but it's one of my favourites to dance. Although I now realize I've only learned the first 2 minutes or so.
