I’d like to get to this level. I had old getting back into the hobby. I learned a lot from your videos but was unwilling to break up my rock because I’m not that artistic and feared the worst. I did build a parameter of my tank and laid my rock out inside and found an rockscape I was happy with and went into using epoxy. After 24 hours I tried to move it and having a 3 piece boulder base was too much and it broke. I gave up. Scraped off the epoxy and put it in my tank and super glued it. The formations I put in the parameters weren’t quite working and I found something I’m very happy with . In a 5 foot 100 gallon tank I’ve got 3 structures that have good cave work. If I ever find the time conference and money to go for a larger tank I will most certainly try breaking my rock. My tank could be better but would be a lot worse without your advice.

My second tank is done cycling. I use Carib sea life rock and stacked boulders. I did drill holes in some rocks for plugs though

Interesting info and definitely got my gears turning on future scape ideas. Thanks guys!

I feel like you can use all the material if you have enough tanks 😉 and extras just mean more media for the sump ( get that early cycle for the next new tank)

That high movement coral in the tank behind you, in purple and green. What is it? It's amazing.

I have a 75 gallon. How many lbs of dry rock do I need?
@BRStv3 жыл бұрын
If you're using the Reef Saver rock, we usually start with somewhere in the 1 to 1.25 lbs per gallon. It's nice to have some extra pieces to work with.

This rock makes tank really cloudy

There can be some dust generated during shipping, so we definitely suggest giving it a good rinse. If it doesn't settle out, it's likely not the rock itself, but more likely a bacterial bloom. Super common with newer setups and they normally go away on their own with time.
