This starling murmeration of maybe 50,000 birds was taken in the UK during january and february of 2020. It takes place every winter on the Salisbury Plain near Urchfont in the Salisbury Plain Training Area on Danger Area D125 on the Westdown Artilliary Range.
The birds come from miles around at sunset, to roost (sleep) in the gorse bushes. Before sleeping they fly in huge flocks performing maneuvers in the sky. These are called murmerations and are a wonder of nature.
