Wave DX is the king of budget mics but the Boya BYM1 Pro sounds surprisingly good for its price. you also have the china mics like Proar and Baifeili C414. A nice shotgun mic is the AT875r but i use a Rode NTG5 which is great in my opinion and half the price of the MKH416 Edit: forgot to add the Videomic GO II and Oktava MK012 Film Kit for indoor booming and dialog For the cheap audio interface category the Shure MVX2U is a great travel interface with DSP and miniature size

Kind of piggybacking on other comments, but the fifine t669 has been an outstanding beginner mic for me. It’s usb, comes with a windscreen and pop filter, an arm, a shock mount, and a little stand. All for $40-$50. I’ve had friends who noticed immediately that I had gone from a headset mic to a standalone mic and I get complements all the time about the sound quality of the t669.

The best budget mic is something like the Samson q2u or audio Technica at2005 (I think that's it's name?). Sure they don't look gamer esque like the fifine ones but it has both xlr and USB meaning if you decide to go xlr you don't have to upgrade the mic itself and in my opinion it's a better choice for videos as it allows you to do more with it like more comfortably walking around with the mic for example in ur hand.

I built a good majority of my setup with lots of budget items, but also with some higher end touches so that it wasn't a big hit to the bank account. A few different things I bought came from neewer like lights and clamp stand kit, friction arms, 48v phantom power supply and shotgun mic. Trond power bars, redragon keyboard, kasorix chair, ergoactive keyboard tray, abovetek tablet holder, huanuo monitor mounts, ulanzi head phone hanger, assorted small parts that didnt have a manufacturer name like thread mount adapter multi pack, under desk cable management trays, cables and cable management. The list goes on, if need be I can make a list of everything

I really want that moto dolly, but a little outside my range of price for the content I would get out of it. A nice piece of equipment I think everyone should have is a battery powered hand vacuum, they are great for cleaning light stuff and crumbs that fall in the cracks of the chair.

Hey there! So I didn't dive into this in the video, but there are a few other Neewer options, both just slightly outdated or previous generations, that range from $70-100. There are actually a few creators who said they prefer the older, cheaper options to the one I use. So that might work out for you! Hope that helps

I'm using the PowerConf C200 2K webcam as my main and secondary camera. Usually around $50 it's nothing crazy either but is great for getting multiple angles. Software is minimal as well. But a 5MP camera with a quarter inch screw as well does make it nice for mounting in different spots

That Maono PD100X is really not great in USB mode. At a little distance, it's serviceable, but the Fifine AM8 is significantly better in USB mode. The only reason I'd go the PD100X route is if you really like the RGB goodness.

if you have a bit of extra budget the PD200X is much better in USB mode. ( Even worked ok when connected to my phone) although to be fair, the AM8 and PD200X are probably about on par with each other audio quality wise. Aesthetically I think the Maono pd200X looks better though & obviously has some software which comes with it to improve the Quality

Fifine has some pretty good mics Akai APC mini I don't know id everyone would agree this is budget ($90), per se, but one of my absolute favorite asymmetrical tech implementations is using an Akai APC mini (mk I or II) paired with voicemeeter+vm macros to have a highly programmable (80 buttons) stream deck alternative with 9 volume sliders. It's all a bizarre combo that feels like it shouldn't work but with a little trial and error it does, and quite entertainingly so.
