We use a similar setup but have added an annexe to the awning and sleep inside that rather than having swags - which I find too small to be comfortable. It surprises me that more people don't use an annexe with an awning as it gives you a place to get away from flies during the day if you want to sit and relax.

Yeah annexs can be great, just a pain if you want to go for a drive you have to pack up absolutely everything.

@@4xExploringAustralia We found that these annexes only take a few minutes to put up and pull down, not much longer than setting up a swag really so they seem to be a good alternative (as long as we leave the zip on floor attached.)

Yeah just all ypur bedding etc has to be packed away. With a swag or tent if you intend to come back to the same place after a couple hrs exploring no need to pack anything up. Awning tent only good if going to a different destination every night or if setting up in the one spot for couple days withput driving.
