I am testing out two AliExpress 3D printed saddles. The Ryet 3D, which cost me $68.62 and the Zeius 3D which cost $74.97. I wanted to see if they are a viable and affordable alternative to the $300 to $500 3D saddles made by the big companies.

The Bullocks, I think that's their name, haha, they're nice! I know a couple of guys who bought them to test from eBay and loved them. They're the same as the Specialized design and actually have different infills in different parts of the honeycomb! They're £96, but I ordered one myself to test out for £155.

I've used the Ryett Carbon saddle outside only, i found it to be really well built, but for me it was just not comfortable, maybe it's just my sit bones but i took it out on a 100km ride and on our (not so) lovely potholed British roads it felt like a jackhammer to the nethers, on the rare occasion where i found a stretch of perfectly undamaged tarmac it actually felt quite good, delivered very little vibration and felt decently comfortable. I'd recommend to anyone riding outdoors in a country that can afford to pave the potholes and properly tarmac their roads. But for me the search continues! i also got it on sale for something like £36, so for a carbon 3d printed saddle you can't really ask for more. Especially since the alternative is a selle italia/fizik/s works that will cost over £300, it's worth trying for yourself since they are so specific to individual anatomy.

This is the first saddle i can do a 200 mile ride on, without havin to be afraid of not being able to walk the next day. I was thinking of slapping also slapping one on my gravel bike, but overthinking iz now. Thx for testing this on the British roads.

Thanks for the review. I might just give it a try since it is the second time that I hear a good review on those. You seem far more prudent though than Dustin Klein was. If you try them out on a longer ride, a follow up would be greatly appreciated. Keep up the good work! 🙂

I bought the Ryett saddle, so far is an awesome saddle, I ridden 60 miles no problems, I paid $47 on AliExpress. I refuse to pay $400 dollars for a saddle, it’s ridiculous. I’ve owned SMP GLIDER, Prologo saddles and the Ryett was way lighter and comfortable 👍

Bought a single product off AliExpress and never again. If was clothing and apart from the quality, lack of resemblance to the add, and the lightweight fragility of the item, there was nothing to recommend buying it if you saw it in a store. Can't imagine they would be any better any where else.

Aliexpress has such a big variety of stuff, so you will find lots of trash, but also some really good stuff and some good deals. I use it mainly for electronic components and its one of the best sites for that currently. I have also heard that the carbon frames from there are supposed to be pretty good and not too expensive.

Not being familiar with ISM Saddles, I went straight to their website to see exactly what you meant. I believe that these saddles may well rip off, or look similar to some other vastly more expensive saddles, but it is certainly not ISM.

A bit beyond in price you say? Compare that little bit of a wedge you park your arse on to ride your bike to a nice comfortable living room lounge you can fall asleep in while watching your favorite shows on TV. The cycling industry needs to have a reset. I'm kind of happy that a lot of companies are under. We will still be able to get the stuff we need and stuff we like, it just won't be coming from the likes of Specialized, TREK, or many other greedy companies.

I find it, the rare exception, that after receiving a product from AliExpress, the low price isn’t discovered to be twice its value. Originally, I thought to myself, how can they produce and ship for this low price? Then I discovered, that this product, was their scrap bin contents, that couldn’t be sold. As long as they receive more than their super low shipping cost (slow boat from China), they were ahead of the game. Since a consumer could never cost effectively return anything, there is effectively no warranty and you are stuck with the subpar, barely functional almost unusably items. Just landfill fodder.

Where I am is always where people will be. Theez new 3D honeycomb flexy wrldleading saddles = same basic princible behind my Rido I had back in thday 2009. Which i'd bought 2mirror thBrooks B17. Cowhide saddle. Best seat ever made of thlast century. Brooks 600 grams $125 Brooks with spring 3lbs 1,400 grams $160 rhats nonsense. Idiot engineering. Brooks quality too has gone way down. These 3D honeycomb &carbon rail saddles have flexible base like cowhide 2 mirror springs sufficiently.... &, when u consider they $18.50 a piece,,,, Conclusion: Now u knowhat thwrlds best bicycle seats are. When designed correctly these seats are also newest seats pretty legendary durable2. Thos is why u never buy in2 Satans evil demonic vintage bikes. Here is what people dont, would never grasp: People buy with their eyes& assumptions so they think knobby tires are an advantage so with bikes seats too they think cushioms are best. No th best seat back in thday ridden by every tour de france rider ever lived of which thTour = thee most GRUELING test of a seat was selle Italia turbo. Turbo had a hard SLICK cowhide surface over foam. Sorta felt like Brooks. But ultra hard foam. Almost like no foam at all. Threality is a cushy seat will DESTROY you cit off circulation in distance riding where its superiour4 short trips. But all thingz cnsidered when in doubt hard saddles all way all DAAAY. They are th epicenter king. Hard surface shiny flexible saddle. They havent figured out yet engineering modern saddles that should be shiny slick... yet... but ofcourse they will. And mind u these modern new carbon flexy base B67ish flexy saddles on TEMU dragging 120 grams vs Brookes 1,400 grams shoot u would need 12 of these 120g carbon saddles to equal thweight of 1 Brookes B67. I dont need 2b lugging all that.

@@cardiaccyclist7477 not so fast. Best cushion ever made was humans muscle. Best cushion ever made was a dogs foot. Etc. Etc. Did u notice something else??? Correct. Skin covering it is very thin elastic sortv like lycra. Just as u want a thin high thread count tire carcass deform better over that rock reduce vibration transmitted 2bicycle. Vibration = gigantic energy lost. Similarly Knobby tires will average 8mph on a 30 miler fireroads over a mt. Where slicks will average 12mph. Few people have ever experienced a tire that deforms over road irregularities perfectly it is INSANE. How fast it is. There is big money in discomfort& bike suspension.... they keep u on an endless tire shopping goose chase. Demons turn engineering in2 a endless merry go round of new & improved. Reezn their sht always endlessly new improved is bcuz they were too dumb 2get it right th 1st time. They deliberately gibe new stuff hidden demons 2keep th cash flow filtering. Try a 300gram plastic or carbon flexy base saddle that mirrors Brooks with silicone gel cushion.... glued on course sandpaper taped 2 th top seat top.... topped with elastic polished shiny leather &u wont EVER have 2thank me again later. When i rob yr wallet with thnext so called "new& improved." Clear silicone is the highest quality gel. 95% "gel" saddles arent gel. They are deliberately compromised gel. Devils dont make money selling smthing tht wrks. Most gels are watered down corrupted or porous.
